what is the hottest sex scene you've seen in a movie? i'm talking a real movie here, not a porn, not a made for HBO softcore.

today i watched Reality Bites. it's pretty light on the sex, but at the end when winona and ethan finally get together it's pretty hot. not too graphic, but still steamy.

soooo.... what should i get when i return this one?

I actually thought Showgirls was a great movie. The sex scenes are quite steamy. Too bad it got Elizabeth Berkeley blacklisted from mainstream Hollywood movies.

Funny thing is, there is VERY little in today's movies. Most of the great sex in regular movies is confined to the '70's and 80's.

Nowadays the best movies tend to do are breast shots (ooh boobies).

oh there is plenty of sex in today's movies... it's just not very "hot." it's not sensual, it's just graphic. if the movie is going to spend so much time developing characters i think there should be some feeling when they have sex. otherwise it's just patronizing. "oh let's toss in a boob shot to keep the audience's attention."

The cut I saw of "Romancing The Stone" in the theatre was Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner in their prime. The love scene co-incides with the theme song. The video versions don't have it. It's funny that the song was a hit, but you only hear a little during a chase sequence, otherwise it plays during the credits. If you don't hear the song with lyrics, the love scene's been cut!)

...and I thought it was important to the story, the way he tried to steal the map while rolling around the bed.

I agree with Ruby , that Body Heat scene just sizzled!

"The Pillow Book" a Peter Greenaway film (and all his films are highly erotic, I think, although probably too avant-garde for most people's tastes).

If you can get it in the original Italian (w/subtitles), there's an old film called "Wifemistress" that's got to be one of the hottest films ever made (w/o being in the least pornographic). It has the gorgeous Marcello Mastroianni and the gorgeous Laura Antonelli in it.

I watched this movie a few weeks ago. Une liaison pornographique (Affair of Love) and the sex scenes are fantastic. Not graphic..but the emotion expressed is moving. It's subtitled and not everyone goes for that. But if you have a chance..it's worth seeing.

Sesert Hearts and Bound do it for me. The HBO film about lesbians(if walls could talk I think?) has a great scene with the very fem lesbian and the motorcycle girl. I love it.
