Get any hits from ET?

I used to do that before I reformatted. I have to get that going again. I have over 500 wu's :D

*edit...Wow Pseudomoniker!

No ET. Sorry. Still hopefull, though.

SEETI@Home is a (I think the correct term is) Ggrid computing initiative, where they break data from the Arcebio radio telescope up into small units, send it out to people who run their program on their computer and then upload the results. It's really pretty neat. They've crunched through an amazing amount of data.

I run it on my home PC, which is on practically 24/7, and is fairly souped up for processing.

Plus I also run it on my work computer. But I signed up for it back in 1999. Never joined a group though. Wonder if anybody knows of a good one to join that wouldn't mind a 5000 wu boost. :)

You have a pm ;)

I 15258 hours done.
I aint joined a groups either. What good are they for?

Well the group I'm in is a community, kind of like this, but with more geeks and less sex.

They are always racing to beat the groups in front of them for top geek bragging rights. No real purpose I suppose.

Erm, next time it comes up as my screen saver, I'll let you know how many hours I have...not that many tho.

I used to but dropped it due to old RAM issues. Have about 720+ units. Suppose I should start doing it again huh?

That reminds me I once won a free IRM or IRO from my webhost company in their group. need to use that some day ;)

I completed my first unit today.

Do i think there is some other life forms out there?

Yes.

Do i think we will be able to detect their transmissions?

I have no fucking clue.

The program make for a cool screensaver and thats ok with me.

Are they "SETI" really that far behind (october 29, 2002) in their processing?

Sure, i will help some.

what about you?
