Server Problems

Yeah, a lot of pages have been loading up blank for me (it started with my memberpage, but I closed down my browser and tried again, then my member page worked, but my submissions didn't)

It only seems to be the member pages and stories though.. The forum seems fine.

Is it just me or is the site kinda whacked today. I can't access my member page, the feedback portal has got "errors" and I keep losing my signed in status.

Anyone else having problems? (there's nothing on the Site Announcements about it).

Hi, Lime. Tolyk and I were just discussing this in the "Practice" thread.

Oh good, I thought I'd lost my tenuous grip on reality. Some of my poems are also missing/showing up blank as well my member page...perhaps I'll toddle off to bed and hope for the best. Thanks for asking the question lime.

It's probably because CV is asleep and the servers tend to draw a lot of their power from his posts.

Brilliant.

:D

Got the memberpage, but the tab which shows you my list of stories worked VERY fast-- to show a blank page.

I can get into the Story Indexes in various categories (off the main Index page), but when you click the links in there, you get another blank page for every story.

In short, stories are unavailable on Lit.

Yeah I know I was going to bed...anyway one of my missing poems has returned but a story has now gone. Now I am really going to bed. Night all.

The bookstore, I guess

HOW can people access wanking material?

Back to print media. It was too good to last. Much more difficult to get published in print media, too.

Oh, well. It's been a good run; it was lovely. Wishing you all well, I remain your faithful

Maybe we could set up a hotline for those going through Lit withdrawls, and charge for each story we tell them.

We'd be rich!

;)

Wouldn't that kind of be like phone sex? :) (Whats the number? ;) )

I was able to view stories earlier ... but got the blank pages when I tried to vote or PC. Frustrating, 'cause I was trying to get a jump start on the contest stories.

EDITED: I can still get to stories via direct link -- just no indices or member pages.

Log-in and submissions

I have been having trouble today logging in as Og.

It seems to work as jeanne_d_artois, but I have been unable to access my member page or submit my next entry to the Winter Holiday contest.

Even trying to post has been impossible until now.

Jeanne, er - Og

I been talking with manu about all this. They upgraded the servers last Friday night. Things is still fusterclucked, when he fixes one problem it creates another. What he said to me a long time ago holds true. If you don't tell him whats fucked he don't know to fix it. I PM'ed him about a feedback portal problem and he fixed it within hours. Zap him a PM.

I would have PM'd Manu IF I could sign in. I couldn't sign in as Og, so I've PM'd Laurel as jeanne.

jeanne the frustrated. (OK. Og is frustrated even more. His next Winter Holiday story is ready and he can'tr submit it.)

Edited for PS:

The page (http://english.literotica.com:81/main.php) is blank when reached from (http://www.literotica.com:81/stories/index.php).

I can't get that message through to the owners. Can someone else do that, please?

I never thought of doing that, honestly. I always pictured hundred of little elves sitting on the stories pages and hitting the refresh button every 30 seconds to make sure everything was still in working order.

I already have, Og. PM'd Manu maybe 30-45 minutes ago to let him know there were problems.

You think its a anti-Og conspiracy?

Heck Og, you use floppy discs, you have spiders in your keyboard, the site may have problems, it might also be time for you to upgrade.

Did he answer you back? Is it going to be fixed soon? I don't know how long I can hold out not being able to access anything except the boards. I think I'm suffering from withdrawal. Got the shakes, cold sweats and everything. Although it could be malaria I guess.

Rain, I rather like the idea of texts having a life of their own. Poems leaving and going is kind of poetical. Characters wanting to see the real world makes sense. Have you read Jasper Fforde?

Perdita :) :rose:

Og has upgraded. He still has floppy discs. The spiders have moved to the picture rail. The keyboards (including the azerty French one for me to use) have been dismantled and cleaned after the spiders left.

He tells me he'll get me a new azerty keyboard on his next trip to France with his car. Even for me he won't carry the keyboard when he goes as a foot passenger. He thinks French cheese from their local farmers' market is more important.
