Yesterday I got a friend request from someone that I don't see stuff from on my feed so I friended her. Then I noticed I had already friended her. 2 accounts that looked the same. I deleted the new one. Today I had another request from a different friend I knew was already my friend. These people would not know each other. I declined. Does that mean they are close to hacking me? I changed my password. Anything else I can do?

I get friend requests from strangers all the time. I always look to see if the person has 1. a post history or 2. a friends list. They are usually shit.

Even if they happen to be real, I never add anyone that I do not know.

I know I didn't really answer your question, sorry.

hackers can get into your account via those stupid viral share and like posts, like the ones saying I have cancer etc please send a prayer etc etc. which is why I never share or like or copy those types of things.

I would suggest contacting your friend by other means if you can to tell them that they have been hacked. The problem is, when someone gets hacked, the hacker gets access to everyone on their friends list too.

Report the suspicious pages to Facebook and change your password for facebook and also the ones for your emails. Do a full virus sweep on your computer and you should be okay x

This means someone has hacked your friend's account and is phishing your friend's address file. There's a lot of that going around on FB. ForestFlame gave a good response.

Careful about fake profiles/hackers. They steal all the pictures and stuff from your friends facebook and create a copy. They friend you and get your info....etc

It's called account cloning. Some people are assholes.

ForestFlame and pink posted some good advice. :)

Facebook accounts get cloned all the time. You can report the second account yourself. I just add anyone and deal with the fallout because I get a lot of young actors/dancers/singers/groupies in the theatre world just adding me because I have a blog. When I hit 4000 friends I did a clear out. I'm down to about 1500 again. Mostly names I vaguely recognise - and with whom I share 84 friends.

My account is very, very busy, and I think hackers steer away from those.

One week ago I got an email notice from FACEBOOK about my abandoned account.

I hadn't used it since 2007.

I logged in and found several friend requests and messages. One message was from my high school sweetheart. She sent the message in 2009. It was flattering and sweet.

Then FACEBOOK deleted the account. They locked me out then the account went away.
