I'm pretty sure this wouldn't have worked for me as a text story, but the retro comic style somehow puts me in a different reader mode. It's hard to judge without knowing where it's headed but I would have at least clicked on to read a Part 3.

That story is actually ended and I wondered if it was worth doing a second story with the principal character.
