Well, Well... I see my thread kept going after being dead for a month... LOL....
IT IS OFFICIAL.... I am now Retired as of the 24 of Feb..... So free to do what I want when I want it and no one to call in to say I can't come to work!
So I am enjoying this a lot!

A year after retiring, I thought about returning. I could have returned at the same salary. I woke up the next day and saw the snow on the ground and decided I didn't want to go anywhere! That did my thinking about going back to work.

What I like about being retired is getting up early and not have to rush to shower, dress and to work. If I want to roll over and go back to sleep, I do!

Well this was my first week being retired. I slept in... and took my time doing stuff... I sat around in my t-shirt and boxers... I just didn't get in a rush about anything.

I'm similarly dressed. I don't answer the door unless I'm expecting a package. My neighbor will bring my packages up if she sees a notice on my mailbox. Some days I shower and put on a clean nightgown. I have 4 comfy housedresses and I'll put one on to empty my trash.

It's nice, but there's a danger. If you don't need to do something right away, there's a tendency to put things off. It can reach a point where you don't get anything done. Make yourself do something every day. It can get depressing if you don't.

I had a few friends who returned to work because they were bored. I've always been a crafter, so having nothing to do isn't a problem. I make greeting cards and send them to my friends. I also exchanged cards with people around the world.

I was a teacher. My last assignment was 8th grade Communication Arts in a magnet school. The school opened in 1995 and I was on the first faculty. Now I enjoy music, reading and making greeting cards.
My students continue to ask for my advice with their own children. Several of them are now teachers, so I didn't set a bad example.

Over the years I wish I had a nickel for every piece of paper I've had to fill out. They'd fill a dump truck.
