Hillary Clinton's argument for counting the Florida Primary vote reminds me of the Florida Spanish Land Grants of 1821.

When the US bought Florida from Spain the treaty made it clear the US would not honor any Royal Land Grants made on or after 1 January 1821. But the Spanish King sold them anyway, and plenty of people bought them at discounted prices. When the US confiscated the land everyone was upset because they lost the money they paid for the land and the improvements they made (house, barn, clearing, etc.).

Their argument was the toil and sweat and money they invested. But they knew it didnt count when they paid the money. The US held legal title to their property.

Clinton makes the same argument today. Sure! People knew their vote didnt count, but they did it anyway and it should count (especially now that she needs it).

Just another Clinton, "anything to win".

It do be a curious conundrum for da Dems; Obama cannot win the general election because he is black and has humongous baggage, he will lose 48 states, carrying only Massachusetts and Oregon.

The Dem Party Moguls know this and loathe the thought of another Republican President and will do anything to give the nomination to Clinton, who might be able to defeat McCain.

such a deal...
