Sen Olympia Snow to retire

Notice how the lame bitch was the only Republican to vote against the Blunt Amendment, giving the Democrats the majority vote they needed. Like I said a fucking RINO.

All courts have been very clear on which companies can be discriminatory against their employees. Those that do not have any form of public advertising (including a phone book) can do whatever they want. They can refuse service to customers. They can ask their employees to donate to the church of their choosing.

Why pass a new law when they already have the right? All they have to do is not publically advertise. Open and shut.

I fail to see how lack of compromise is good for anyone, especially in government.

The fringe right, like some of the wingnuts posting in this thread, have been pushing for their radical agenda for a while... they've got candidates that represent their brand of idiocy, and now they're realizing that none of them are actually viable.

Sucks to have reality slap you in the face, doesn't it boys?

Who you callin a wingnut, wingnut?

I am from Maine.

The seat could easily go to Angus King, an independent and former Governor.

He is fiscally conservative but socially indifferent. Not my ideal choice but quite popular.:rose:

Betcha a buck this seat turns blue.

This is a big loss for the Republican party for a number of reasons, the big one being that she was a voice of moderation among growing extremism.

Actually she had the TOP liberal voting record of all the RINOs.

Maine got its taste of Tea Party government when its current governor snuck through with 38 percent of the vote in 2010, and he's been a disaster.

The only Republican who can keep that seat is someone like Snowe. If they nominate a Dixie-style Republican, they will lose. Book it.

This is true. I lived in Maine for a number of years (until pretty recently) and Mainers are a very independent-minded people. Many would call themselves libertarians rather than republicans, but they liked John Baldacchi (D) the former governor enough to give him two terms. And yes, my friends up there ain't happy with the new governor. I doubt he'll get a second term.

I would not be surprised to see Baldacchi run for Snowe's seat. He's still very popular and I think he'd have a good shot at it.
