Sen Olympia Snow to retire

She was a big whining RINO.

If you knew what a twat you project, you'd... nevermind. I'll quite simply state that if the party cannot listen to an Olympia Snow or a Nelson Rockefeller or a Theodore Roosevelt then... it eats itself. Senator Snow has been stalwart to her moderateness - just like a strained majority of nominal Republicans have been. (Oh... there's your "RINO" label... the majority of the party) Such a scorched earth world view!

Once again, all the GOPers here are circling the wagon preaching they are better off when every report I read today says "fuck"...we just lost a very important seat. They call that denial.

Betcha a buck this seat turns blue.

This is a big loss for the Republican party for a number of reasons, the big one being that she was a voice of moderation among growing extremism.

I saw the little coward had posted in this thread, and said to myself "self, I am quite certain that this moron will say something about her being a RINO".

Cornholio may be a lot of things, and predictable is one of them...

Thirty years of listening to her is quite enough, especially when she starts whining about what Washington has become under her tutelage.

Oh and be advised, I don't give a fuck what you think I project, ya twat.

Ahhh, V... that's nice. You're a fossil. How quaint! The party itself is passing you by... catch the last wagon. You're revered!

All things come and go sooner or later, no need to take it all so seriously as it does. However until it does I suspect I won't be giving any ground to folks like you who have to check with the weatherman to see which way to lean. Have a good evening.

All talk and no action

The Social Conservatives beat the Republican party to within an inch of its life, and the Tea Baggers but a bullet in its head. The generation of mean-spirited old white guys is coming to an end and the party can either embrace the changing values the younger, more diverse generation holds, or fold up its tent.

No, it isn't. Now, she can be replaced with a real Republican.

You know her statement given the likelihood of a Dem getting her seat being at least 50/50 it sounds like she's basically saying she'd rather give more control to the Democrats than be be a part of the gridlock. Sad that she feels that way.

Why be surprised? She voted as a Democrat all along. Good riddance to her.

I fail to see how lack of compromise is good for anyone, especially in government.

The fringe right, like some of the wingnuts posting in this thread, have been pushing for their radical agenda for a while... they've got candidates that represent their brand of idiocy, and now they're realizing that none of them are actually viable.

Sucks to have reality slap you in the face, doesn't it boys?

Notice how it's only loonies who defend and support her?

There's a reason for that.....

Right now we have your uncompromising nuts in charge of the government applying their brand of idiocy. In November we'll see about that reality.

So you think the teabaggers will be voted out already?

I don't think it's possible. they have terms of more than 2 years.

Notice how the lame bitch was the only Republican to vote against the Blunt Amendment, giving the Democrats the majority vote they needed. Like I said a fucking RINO.

No she wasn't. Do you just make stuff up to post here?

The "fucking RINO" who also voted against the Clinton economic program in 1993, and for the Bush tax cuts, and against the Affordable Care Act.

Aside from taking a moderate line on social issues--without which a Republican politician absolutely cannot survive in New England, as Scott Brown is discovering--and voting for Obama's stimulus, which should have been an easy 100-0 vote in the midst of an economic crisis (and it would have been if there had there been a Republican president), most of her "moderation" was a pose for the Washington press corps before she went out and did the bidding of Trent Lott/Bill Frist/Mitch McConnell.
