Okay I was feeling lazy today and didn't want to do a lot of cooking. I hit the local grocery this morning and after strolling the aisles found what I wanted.

Into the basket went a package of Sweet Italian Sausage and another of hot. (Store Brand.) I grabbed a couple of boxes of Spaghetti Noodles, (Again store brand, two for one.) and two jars of store brand Spaghetti Sauce. (One Meat Flavored and the other Parmesan and Romano Flavored.)

When I got home I fired up the grill and tossed a couple of six inch long links of each type of sausage. As they grilled I reached in the fridge and pulled out an Onion and a couple of Cloves of Garlic. These were skinned and minced. The sauce and the Onion and Garlic were tossed into the crock pot.

I pulled the sausage off the grill and sliced it thin before tossing it into the crock pot as well. I turned the crock pot on low and covered it up. I let it simmer like that all day as I did other things.

Oh man did that turn out good.

Your idea of semi quick is a little skewed I'd say. :D

Here's a really quick one. 5 minute pasta sauce.

Chop up some charlottes and hickory smoked ham and make it sizzle in olive oil in a deep frying pan.

Add some dark beef broth (this is why the pan needs to be deep, and why you probably need gloves and a welding mask - pouring water into hot oil is... interresting) and let it boil down to a goo in the bottom of the pan.

Add lots of sour cream, a small pinch of white sugar and a good deal of black pepper. Stir like a mofo on full heat.

Turn down the heat. Stir in three drops of lemon (more and the sourcream will get fucked up).

Pour al dente pasta into pan. Turn over once or twice. Let it bubble and squeek for a minute or two. If you're feeling frisky, sprinkle it with well burnt bacon and fresh basil.

Enjoy with your garden variety lager.

Sounds good to me.

And this is quick for me. It took all of ten minutes to get everything ready then I could let it sit with more than the occasional stir for the rest of the day.

Chop a few tomatoes warm from the garden. Clip off a couple of basil leaves on the way into the kitchen. Toss in a large bowl of pasta. Add a drizzle of good olive oil, if you like. Serve with freshly grated Italian cheeses.

That sound good Glynndah, cool and refreshing, and I have some nice yellow tomatoes to give it extra color.

I make this for my boys. Well lovingly call it sausage pasta.

Buy two nice chorizo. Something smoky. Slice em. Fry em till crispy. DON'T POUR OF THE OIL. Add a jar of your favourite pasta sauce. Cook for five minutes to reduce and intensify the flavour. Turn off the heat and add 3-4 crushed cloves of raw garlic. Serve over pasta with lots of parmesan. This stuff rocks.
