I'm late as per usual, but the GB was (is?) more of a joke back in the day. If I recall correctly, it was more commonly called the "GeeBee" in jest.

Some time back, I watched an interview with David Cornwell, aka John le Carré. He was talking about the screenplay for Tinker, Taylor and pointed out the necessity the the story being from one voice, one writer. That he was talking about another writer rightfully excluding him for the script of his own novel impressed me.
