When it comes to music I find some much more seductive than others. Nina Simone, George Benson, T-bone and alot of the older jazz musicians. But rock also helps when writing a scene. It's hard to put a list out of my favorite music for an evening dinner, a seductive night or an inspiration for writing.

What about everyone else? Are there favorite seductive musicians you listen to when writing? Or having that romantic dinner? Or even when having sex?

dont know why but i immediately thought of scene music...
and i love Gregorian Chant for that...mmmmmmm

for quiet dinners, Maggie Sansone...celtic music...
for fast and furious sex...led zepplin or anything with a heavy bass line.
for sexy dancing before sex..Tony Braxton...hrm or was that pole dancing...

anything really...except country

I can't listen to music when I'm in the process of writing, nor when I'm having sex :( I find it too much of a distraction. However, I have certain kinds of music that I always listen to when I'm doing different things:

Motorway Driving - Euphoric trance
Traffic Jams - The Carpenters, Luis Armstrong or Dusty Springfield
Ideas for Stories (when I'm scribbling down the outline) - any kind of chillout
Winding Down - often when I'm slightly stoned I lie on my bed with the speakers behind my head, listening to classical music in surround sound. When I align the speakers in a certain way it's just like I'm sitting in the middle of the orchestra. Rachmaninov is ideal for this kind of mood. Either that or Faure's Requiem.
