No. This isn't worth it.

I wrote a thread in MSWord to avoid the CHYOO time-out problem. I cut and pasted it into CHYOO. It was approved, and all the apostrophe's were turned into some code numbers. The HTML tags didn't work, and the whole thing came out looking like shit. I don't need any more help in screwing up my stuff. I can do that by myself.

You know what? The hell with this. I don't need to sit aorond and waste time turning out crap like this. I shouldn;'t have to cut and paste into three different windows to get some text up that's readable. No one should have to do that.

If they want people to contribute here, fix the damned site. It's that fucking simple.

Try using something else than Word. Word is the problem here.

Write it in Notepad or something else like that. Hell, if you absolutely want to use Word, write it in Word, copy/paste in Notepad, copy/paste on Chyoo.

Quotation marks in Word

It´s easier than that to avoid the problem with quotation marks in Word. You just have to disable the automatic replacement of normal quotation marks by typographic ones.
My word is German, I assume that the menu path in the English version is as follows: Extras, Auto-Correction, Auto-Format during Input, Replace during Input, "straight" quotation marks by "typographic" ones. (If my translation is far off, please someone check and post the right English words). If this option is unchecked, the "" remain as typed and thus readable - only the typographic ones are shown as numerical code.

When I looked at what you were suggesting it made total sense, turn off the smart quotes Duh!! I feel like such a fool.

The menu path on my word is:

Tools
Autocorrection
AutoFormat as you type
Uncheck "Straight Quotes with Smart Quotes"

I thank you for using all of your brain and coming up with a solution instead of accepting the same old BS.

Well I do all my writing in Word, and Chyoo is just a small part of it. Am I going to have to pull this switch everytime I go from Chyoo to other uses?
How come I can cut & paste just fine into Literotica?

Quotes are a Breeze

The changes to the setup in word work great. I highly recommend it to everyone who is writing for Chyoo. All the benefits of Word with out the problem. All quotes and apostrophe's work great now. Now more messing with word pad, just write in work and past it into Chyoo.

I even like the new quotes better than the old ones so it is a win win solution. I just leave it set with the the smart quotes off and everything works fine.
