Actually there might be a reason. Check out this wikipedia article, about "skene's glands" (now also being called "female prostate".
It's possible that stretching the inner labia might also stretch and enlarge this gland-- give it more interior volume-- and also might open the ducts a little more.
Only my opinion, no medical knowledge avowed!
That's a pretty fascinating idea, Stella. Of course, from the pics I've seen, the women who are ejaculating are coming in liters, but those have to be staged. There's just no place to store all that fluid in the human body.
Getting more scientific, though, the Wicki article says this:
The fluid that emerges during female ejaculation has a composition similar to the fluid generated in males by the prostate gland,[6] containing biochemical markers of sexual function like Human Protein 1[7] and the enzyme PDE5. When examined with electron microscopy, both glands show similar secretory structures,[8] and both act similarly in terms of prostate-specific antigen and prostate-specific acid phosphatase studies.[9][10][11][12] Because they are increasingly perceived as merely different versions of the same gland, some researchers are moving away from the name Skene's gland and referring to it instead as the female prostate.
That's pretty damned interesting. It doesn't say whether Skene's gland is plumbed like the prostate but it must be. What function could it be serving in females? Just more mad scientist fodder?
