I remember that episode. They met "angels" , right? Beings neither males nor females. It was one of the coolest. :D
It was memorable in many ways.

For instance, in that (2-part) episode, Captain Adama showed that he had telekinetic powers, explaining that the military had experimented with this for quite a while. The so-called angels, including the fallen Iblis, simply had telekinetic powers far more advanced than anything the Galactica humans had yet developed.

Imagine what the Roman Empire would have thought if they lived next door to the United States and we kept sending Army Rangers equipped with active camouflage (invisibility), into their territory to pick off the Roman Legions...

One of, if not the only non-human officers in Palpatine's army, and the only non-human Grand Admiral, Thrawn was sent away by Palpatine to deal with some problems in the outer rim of the galaxy just before the Battle of Endor. When he returned, he found the Galactic Empire had been destroyed and decided to take over the New Republic... he almost succeeded.

He liked to study his enemy's art, because he felt it told much about their strategies.

The Mon Calamari MC80 Star Cruiser

One can't imagine at first glance that these ships wrought havoc upon the mighty Imperial Star Destroyers. But they sure as heck did.

The Calamari MC80s are cruise ships that were converted for wartime use. As each ship is a work of art, no 2 MC80s look exactly the same. They have redundant systems that make them especially resistant to damage. Against a Star Destroyer, they were quite like a dwarven warrior (MC80s average 1200m) battling a gladiator (Star Destroyers average 1600m) - MC80s were smaller but very strong and very durable.

Calamari Admiral Akbar often liked to use a tactic with the Calamari MC80s called "Capping the 'T'". A group of MC80s would get in front of a group of Imperial Star Destroyers, moving perpendicular to the Destroyers, and all the MC80s would hammer the lead Destroyer with their guns. The other Star Destroyers' ability to help out was hindered usually long enough to cost the Empire at least one Destroyer, if not more.

I believe the MC80 fleet was utterly decimated in the Battle of Endor by the Death Star II and its attendant Star Destroyer fleet.
