Schumer shreds Trumpcare 2.0: The GOP are crafting it ‘in the dead of night’ because they are ‘ashamed’

Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is leading Senate Democrats in in an aggressive push to block the latest Republican effort to repeal the Affordable Care Act and replace it with Trumpcare.

“They’re crafting it in the dead of night,” Sen. Schumer charged during a Tuesday press conference. “They’re ashamed of this bill, they’re afraid to find out what it actually does, and so we get another bill in the dark of night — so the process is awful.”

“Our Republican colleagues should be walking around with blindfolds because they don’t want to see what’s in the bill they’re being forced to vote for,” said Sen. Schumer.

The minority leader blasted the policy of the bill in addition to criticizing the process by which Republicans are trying to force through Graham-Cassidy by September 30.

“Thirty million Americans will lose their healthcare if this evil bill passes,” Sen. Schumer predicted. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has yet to “score” Trumpcare.

The Rethuglicans are in a hurry to pass this shit before the 30th, after which they will need 60 votes!

Tillamook makes a farm style shredded cheese. Bigger, more natural tasting. They are an Oregon company, I'm sure they would be more than happy to shred for our country.

Not that it would happen, but I would love to see what would happen if the GOP came up with a decent medical plan and see if the dems would back it or call it evil because its not theirs.....

I'm not for any of the disgraceful Trumpcare plans, but I also question the sincerity of the democrats when it comes to doing the right thing for people over party, which of course is why we're in this mess in the first place all it is is about party on both sides.

There's nothing to point to (point to it if you believe otherwise) that evidences the Democrats wouldn't participate in formulating a plan if they were included in the planning (which isn't happening--most of the Republicans aren't being included in the planning either). And if the plan was "decent," as in equitable and fair to the citizens and meeting their needs, it would be one that only most Democrats and a few Republicans would support, so there's no going to "decent" without the Democrats being involved. The likelihood of this happening (which isn't impossible) is if the Trump administration deepens its working with the Democratic leadership over the Republican leadership.

The Rethuglicans put up Graham-Cassidy to oppose Bernie-Care and are pushing the Anti-Socialist line.

The Health Insurance Co's are all against Bernie-Care 'cause it rips the heart out of their profits.

What do you want to protect? Insurance Co. Profits or your health?

I doubt the Republicans are doing any sweating over Bernie's proposal.

Morning Joe warns GOP to stop lying about ‘inhumane’ health care bill: ‘You think I’m a son of a b*tch?’

“I don’t understand how they think they will get away with that, and how some of my friends — and they are friends, that’s why it hurts so much — are getting on TV and lying every day to the American people, lying through their teeth about what’s in that bill and what’s not in this bill,” Scarborough said.

Scarborough said the Graham-Cassidy bill appears to be close to passing, when the U.S. Senate votes by the end of next week — but he warned GOP lawmakers of a looming electoral disaster if it does.

“That’s insanity — nobody knows what’s in this bill,” he said. “What’s so stunning about this, I’ll just say this, what is so inhumane about this is, there are people who depend on Medicaid, on the sort of health care that we are talking about, about the guarantees that have been given, that are going to be stripped away.”

Scarborough called on GOP lawmakers to debate the bill on its merits and stop trying to hide it under the cover of lies.
