Another two weeks until our kids go back to school.

We've been basking in the Scottish sunshine today - 18 C ! Temp is getting down to about 6C tonight. The joys of Scotland. I feel sorry for the tourists.

The Edinburgh Festival is underway, four weeks of shows. This is the first year there have been over 2000 different shows at the Fringe Festival ( There is the official Edinburgh Festival which includes the Edinburgh Art Festival, the Military Tattoo, the International Festival, the Book Festival, the Film Festival, and the Jazz and Blues Festival. There are several hundred shows to go to. Alongside this is the Fringe Festival and the street entertainers. It gets quite busy.)

There is plenty for the kids to do over the next few weeks.
I'll have to post some pics.

Damn! Your schools start early. What's the deal? I mean, is there extra vacation time for winter holiday or something like that? Or do they just make the kids go to school more in your state?

I love this time of year because I can indulge in my "fetish" (non-sexual, thankyouverymuch!) for stationary store products. Pens, paper, mini-staplers, spiral notebooks, bookbags....

All the cool stuff gets made for the kids and college students. Can't wait to see what treasures there might be at the Staples Store this year

They get out of school here usually around the second week of May, so earlier than a lot of places.

My daughter went back to school today. Fifth grade. The kids in the town I live in don't go back until sometime next week.

The pool sounds awesome. It's 94 right now, and it's after 8 pm.
