Well I am sitting here watching a favourite movie of mine, Gross Pointe Blank, and thinking "would i go to my high school reunion"?

The movie is the 10th year reunion which has passed for me, but I honestly think i could not be bothered seeing those people again.

Hell they probably feel the same way about me :)

Would you go to yours?

Did you go to yours?

If you have been... what was it like? any good stories?

It would all depend on what I have to show for myself at the time. If my life sucked I wouldn't go there just to get shown up by all the stuck up bitches I went to school with!

that movie was loosely based off of my highschool reunion.

best goddamn use of a pen i've ever come up with.

Nutshell version: I'm treating my High School reunion like the plague...never had it, never will! :p

hmmm definately an interesting combination.

I think mine would be a combination of INXS nd early Midnight Oil

I went to mine last fall. It wasn't anything big, but then again, my graduating class only had 24 students. About 18 of them showed up. We sat around, got caught up, ate dinner and had a few drinks. It wasn't anything big but we all enjoyed it.

:)

Marty: Did you go to your high-school reunion?
Marcella: Yes, I did. It was just as if everybody had swelled.

My ten year reunion was last year and I didn't go. Simply because I still see and keep in regular contact with those that I really liked.
Also every year during Little League its almost like a reunion. I see so many people that I graduated with, I get to say a quick hello how are you to them then I can take my leave. Much better than being stuck at some banquet for hours and hours listening to boring people drone on and on.

Tho this isn't to say that if I married some fabously rich hot man, I wouldn't go just to kinda show off a lil.

Yep I have spurts of shallowness :D

My reunion was last year but I didn't make an appearance. The people who mattered from high school I've kept in touch with. The others I have absolutely no use for.

LOL. They wanted $40 from everyone to cover costs of the picnic and dinner/dance.

I didn't go, I was in Nebraska and graduated in South Texas. My best friend went and told me that the groups stayed the same as they were in High School. She said she tried going up to them and talking and such, and was virtually ignored, like before.

She also told me that so many people did NOT show up, that they couldn't cover the cost of food, and building rental. Awwwww...

Oh well... I'm glad I didn't go.

I went to my 10th. Hated it.
My 20th was this summer. I skipped it. One was plenty, thanks.

I went to my 5 year, but skipped the next two for the same reasons everyone else mentioned.

My simple reason for never going, is that there is no way I would want to talk to a bunch of people I ignored at highschool.

Could it be that us lit people are anti social when it comes to our past?

I know I often am.

Kinda weird. Graduations like the starting gate, who will win the race? Who gives a shit.

I might go to see some old friends.

My ten year reunion should be sometime this year. I would like to go and see how people I've lost touch with are doing.

My ten year reunion sucked. All the people who were big in high school, but were now nothing special, walked around like they were King Shit again.

The nerds and unknowns, who had gone out in the real world and grew, were treated like nothing again. Most left early. Most people I hung out with never showed up.

Our high school was full of cliques. It will be like that forever.

I give all those class reunions a slip, blaming everything from fictious workloads to a sudden discovery that I got bubonic plague.

So far those few I keep contact with from those days say I haven't missed much, everyone are overly polite, those you want to meet are never there and those that are there are just interested in telling everyone how great their life is and how successful they are.

Not for me.

Nope didnt go to my 10. Probably wont go to any of them. I have no desire to go back to a place where most of the people were rich, snotty and shallow. I keep in touch here and there with some of my friends from highschool but we all seem to have moved on so much. Changed so much. Why hold onto the past.
