imagine a community where at 18, all the virgins are sent mandatorily to a "boot camp" called the School for Virgins. There, they receive advanced socialization, and watch videos and sex demonstrations, but sex is strictly forbidden.

Possibilities include:
~ a horny pair of students try to find a spot to do the nasty
~ a student caught masturbating by a classmate
~ a student caught masturbating by a teacher
~ a secret plot- the rich couple financing the school are 'cherry picking' the sexiest students to deflower themselves
~parent's day
~the parent/teacher interview
~a year end orgy

The chances of there being more than one pupil at a time are pretty low in any country under 100,000,000 population, and even if you took in the whole of North America, or of Europe, two or three at a time would be the most likely pupil population, so keeping them apart would be easy.

but this is an alternate Lit compliant Earth

Reminds me of "So I wanted to be a cheerleader" but of the heterosexual variety.

I would tie it in with a religious school and have an arranged marriage spouse awaiting completion.

Naturally it's a rather a far fetched premise.

I find some of the farthest fetched premises to be some of the most promising....

Like some guy with a cock that keeps on growing?
Or a guy who's cock keeps on shrinking?
Or a guy and a girl switch bodies but not minds?

I would never write such stuff on a Saturday.

:D

I agree that GratefulFred's idea would make it a little more plausible. This works especially well with arranged-marriage couples who have only met each other once or twice. (The only question I'd have is what-on-earth religion we're dealing with here. Speaking only for myself, I'd probably end up writing it in a middle-level fantasy setting--Renaissance-era technology, the sense of existential questioning and revolution which would allow such a level of liberalism; and the ability to break free of Earth-standard religions. But I'm crazy.)

The religion doesn't matter. the concept of being against pre-marital sex and matchmaking should be emphasized.

I like the midevil period with a slutty teacher.

The religion doesn't matter.

Well, that depends on your writing style. o_O I'm a character-driven writer, so if I don't understand my characters I can't write--and since the characters' religion would have some impact on who they are, it's a detail I would need to understand. (Also keep in mind that I consider myself a novelist first and an eroticist second. To me, a sex story is like an action movie: it doesn't matter how many hot women are causing things to explode; if I don't care about the characters, I'm bored to death.)

Matchmaking is a concept and a policy that's gone on through history. We consider it conservative, but its proponents point out that a person's parents know him as well as anyone does, and furthermore have more experience with compatibility and marriage in general. (They may have a point.) Being against Pre-Marital Hanky-Panky, on the other hand, doesn't say anything at all; there's very few cultures that haven't been against that, if for no other reason than it's hard for a single mother to successfully raise a child. But just how "against it" are they?--if they catch Mr. Horny and his fiancée going at it, will they turn a blind eye as our culture does? Will they send them home to their parents? Will they string them up and whip them? Will they stone them to death in the town square? All of these are valid responses, and all of them have been practiced over the course of history. (And remember that we are not talking about a hypothetical situation here; no matter who writes the story, this will happen.) Besides, what would the logic be for a culture that condemns PMHP but then runs its kids through a Pre-Marital How-To-Have-Sex course--by which I mean, a gamut of temptation? It is far-fetched, it needs to be answered for the story to make sense, and that answer will make the story more interesting (and thus better).

This is an interesting premise. Why would you waste it on a stroke story? :)

I definitely think it's a good idea. I would read a story like that. A lot of potential for teasing your audience and you can really have some fun with the details of the school and society.

Perhaps that's the point? IE, the whole thing is a test; those who show discipline and restraint get to join the community as adults, those who don't are condemned to perpetual minor status unless they pass some sort of ordeal to show they've learned their lesson. Or are banished.

whats the point of reading fiction if your not interested in suspending your disbelief for a moment. If the only things written were realistic it would be a boring world.

I think your onto a winner with this one IMHO and i love the secret plot by rich cherry pickers. Plenty of room for development within that

SO, one of you write it, or better still, both of you write it independently and we can read and compare both versions.

I like the idea but have to agree with snoop but i like the boot camp idea
and all the ideas sirhugs could have a part in it part one part two and so on

~ a horny pair of students try to find a spot to do the nasty
~ a student caught masturbating by a classmate
~ a student caught masturbating by a teacher
~ a secret plot- the rich couple financing the school are 'cherry picking' the sexiest students to deflower themselves
~parent's day
~the parent/teacher interview

I agree with you i did do a story ages ago about a finnishing school that sort of would fit part of the idea but i am not sure where it is but i will try and dig it out and adapt it but not so sure about the virgin side working maybe you could have a poor little rich girl comes to a school for being expeled from another the school is a strick one and if rules are broken the punishments are harsh.

Well, you guys have fun with it.

One of the problems with doing a lot of writing is that you start getting really picky. You start to realize that all stories exist in the context of their characters, and that all characters exist in the context of their culture, and that all culture exists in the context of human nature--and that, unfortunately, human nature makes some stories implausible, because humans just wouldn't do what the story needs them to.

So, yeah. I'm signing out on this one.

In history and my experience there is very little that, one human would not do to another. However, I do have to agree with you that there are very few original stories, if it is not the dad doing the daughter; it is the son doing the mother or sister. Alternatively, a gangbang in a bar on a pool table, forced rape objects. If anyone can show me a new, story or premise this side of the end 2009 it would be a miracle.
Have a good new year to all
