Scent can be a huge turn on or off depending upon your own sensibilities. Scent alone can take many submissives deep into subspace and capture their attention as quickly as the crop on a flaming red ass. Scent can also capture the imagination of a Dominant personality in ways that get their juices flowing for sceneing.
My toys have a scent fixation for leather and rubber while I am more predisposed to the aroma of gardenias. A mixture of both scents is an almost given that a long drawn out scene is on the horizon.

I love the smell of cloves Myself...they have a sharp pungent smell to My nostrils.

One of the nice things about the way I organize my toys is how the containers hold smell
They're basically "ToyPerware" so every time I unpack them the rich smell of leather fills the air
It really gets the blood pumping

the pollen is killing me!

I can instantly recall the personal scent of every man i've ever loved! And usually "fell in love" from that sense alone.

My favorites:
sea salt, sweat, and Coppertone
sweat and sawdust
woodsmoke and perked coffee
automotive oil (that one taught me to change the oil in my car and my own flat tires)
rosemary is bittersweet ... a lost love i still think of daily!

and Old Spice will get me naked every time !!

For me ... to surround myself in when i'm alone ... definitely gardenia or patchouli. I sometimes get the chance to work with a woman who burns some sort of wonderful inscence at home before work. She always smells delicious. And, although I don't partake of this particular vice anymore ... the aroma of those funny roll-your-own cigarettes. Brings back memories of carefree teen years.

In the past 14 months, i've been trying out the online dating thing. I've been lucky and its all be fun and safe! Of the seven men I've spent time with online i've actually seen 5 ... only two got a second and third date, and eventually we became lovers. Just because they both smelled so good!

I haven't "smelled" the other two yet ... and for one ... the Sir ... His scent will determine my submission.

I am allergic to most scents, so my favorite scent is one that is natural for the person and surroundings.

It a sub does not smell right to me, I am not likely to want them around.

I was waiting to see if someone would comment on this. I, too, am allergic to most scents, though there is this one masculine scent that I smell from time to time that just washes over me. I can't tell you what it is because I've avoided men's colognes for years. Now I want to run to a department store to find it. It gets me going in a way no scent ever has before!

I agree about a natural scent. I used to hate incense until I got one sent to me from a friend in Oz who made it herself. I've yet to be able to duplicate it but I've found one that has a softer scent than the sandlewood or patchouli.

I prefer subtle scents that creep up on you...envelope you and pull you close...preferably one clinging to the One who is wrapping their arms around you. Just my choice.

With the right scent...I am aroused instantly...some are just that powerful...for me.

I wasn't even considering personal scent
I have a VERY developed sense of taste & smell (they go together & are sort of a job requirement for me )
Strong fake scents make me sneezy & miserable
I like to have a freshly bathed woman in front of me so I can bury my face in her hair and get its scent and then sniff her all over
Usually nibbling along the way

I would venture to say I could tell most of my lovers apart by scent, and certainly by taste

Scent...I am sooooo aware of it!! There have been times I have stopped by my local fetish stores "just to inhale" - mainly the scent of leather!!!

It IS terrible to smell the scent of a former lover on someone else - tends to make me crave....

I for one enjoy the smells that assault My senses when I walk into My favourite toy store much more than I do passing the perfume counter in the department store.
I love the scent of freshly showered submissives, spring rain, preferrably on their naked and steaming bodies ~~grin~~
and vanilla soap...OK OK OK I do have a touch of vanilla around Me...But..it is only in scent!

that scent is FIRST among all flower scents for me.

When I was a child there was a huge hedge of them growing under my windows in Mississippi. The humid nights brought out their scent. I still love that smell the best of all.
