I need to get in the mood, and I figured at least a few other people might enjoy a good fright.

I have an idea for the Winter Holidays contest. I pretty much have the whole thing laid out in my head, but I need to get in the groove. The story, in a nutshell, concerns a group of paranormal investigators a la TAPS, also known as the 'Ghosthunters' of Sci-Fi fame.

Feel free to post any stories, anecdotes, personal experiences, and especially YouTube video links that just might send a chill down my spine.

But don't think I scare easy . . . ;)

I have two words for you.

IRS audit.

If that don't send a chill down your spine...well I give up. :(

(Yes I know it's four words but an abbreviation counts as one ;) )

Shit. They'd take a look at my accounts and throw up their hands in despair. :p

Really. Come on, dude! Scare me! ;)

Hmm. You know, in a twisted way, that might just work . . . .

Dentist chairs are good to raise my bloodpressure. I call my Dentist, Madame Torturer the Queen of Pain. She adores me for it.

Actually, I think it was in a book/movie, Marathon Man where the dentist did a tooth filling/torture session.

Hmmm, this IS a challenge. Okay, I hate to do this to you, but since you're begging....

The Fool, TxRad, and I use your place to practice for our new careers as male stippers.

There was a movie, on Showtime, I believe, probably a good ten years back, starring Corbin Bernsen. It was called 'The Dentist.'

That had some pretty twisted shit . . . .

You're one tough hombre, Slyc. So far, the only thing that has you cowering in terror is the thought of Sarahh as a nun. What about this: you're the new kid in a gloomy parochial school being sent to the principal's office for punishment where you find Father Scouries waiting for you.

Gimme a fuckin' shotgun loaded with shards of razorwire.

Seriously, if I met the dude in the flesh . . . he'd be about as threatening as a one-legged chihuahua with a lisp.

Now, Mother Cloudy with a yardstick . . . *shudder*

ETA: 'sides, I wouldn't have to worry about scouries' punishment unless I was blood-related to him. ;)

Good point, and good night.

Problem with scary stuff is that it's so hard to convey the creepy feeling - what freaked you out at the time, when put down on paper sounds so lame

I think about it a lot. That is, what's truly frightening. I think the common theme beneath most horror is the destruction of someone's world by organized evil.

Like Child Welfare agents stalking children to kidnap and sell them. It would be easy to do if youre familiar with how the system works. Kids do vanish in the system.

I wrote a story about a judge who picks up college studs on-line, fucks their brains out, drugs them, and castrates them.

I wrote a story about a stud who picks up gay teens, takes them home, drugs them, and drowns them in his jacuzzi....then tosses them off his dock into the bay.

I'm writing a novel about an evil school system that murders political opponents and stupid children. If your kid is in Special Ed, look out!

In this state the mentally ill are pretty much at liberty to hurt people if they can demonstrate their incompetence at the time they hurt someone. Not having meds is their best defense, and its the common excuse.

You cant use not taking meds as an excuse, but you can use not having meds as your excuse. And you can refuse to take them if someone provides them for you.

And this state jails 125,000 mentally ill people every year.

The jails do not like crazy people. Crazy people create too much strife with everyone. So the jails like to cut them loose ASAP. And the crazies go out and work their magic on the civilians once again.

We had a case here involving a man released from jail in California. He was crazy as a shithouse rat. In California he raped a young teen and cut her arms off with a hatchet. California cut him loose and he came here. In Tampa he solicited prostitutes and mudered them. He went to prison and died of cancer before he was executed.

Crazies are frightening.

No! Its the Clintons' turn at bat. In 8 years we'll get Laura Bush. Then Chelsea, then the Bush twins. A co-dynasty.
