I actually haven't eaten a semla this year. I do like them though.

It's snowing.
And snowing...

Good to see you back Rinka! And it've been snowing and snowing here as well! I miss somebody to keep me warm in it ;)

Rågbröd. That's what I miss the most. I got so used to it again that it's difficult to imagine going back to the wheat shit they eat here, so I don't really eat bread anymore. My next order of business is to learn how to make real rågbröd from scratch. I've already found a decent recipe, but I've yet to find proper flour, so it might take a while before I get to it.

Mina semlor turned out delicious on Tuesday! I had some friends over and they loved them and one of them insisted that I make some for her husband's birthday in March. I tried to explain that we only eat them in February, but she wasn't having any of it. So I'll be making a new batch of semlor in a couple of weeks.

I seem to be talking a whole lot about food these days.

Oh, and there has been no shortage of snow here either. It's weird, I haven't seen this much snow in years. Now it's mostly gone already and we're back to normal rainy and damp (and thus cold as heck) winter, but for a while the amount of snow really blew my mind.

I hear Sweden got hit by a snow storm.

I understand about the bread. When I have spend a few weeks or months in other countries that's what I miss from home.

Glad your semlor was a success! Maybe you can start a little side business there. Use your preoccupation with food for catering for friends and acquaintances. I love catering parties, it's so much fun.

And, yeah... snow and ice has messed up all public transportation and most other things the whole weekend. Today it's sunny and calm here, but they recommend staying at home if possible, since the subway and everything has big problems. And more is expected during the week.

Glad you had a good time. :) Details about the the formerly innocent, now corrupted girl would be appreciated...:D

And I love your avatar- My son had a bunny like that, but grey. The softest and cutest thing ever. When he cleaned his ears with his paws he was so adorable.

Good to see you back Rinka! And it've been snowing and snowing here as well! I miss somebody to keep me warm in it ;)

Hej, min vän! Sorry I've been out of touch.
You should have someone to keep you warm during the dark, cold months. And I'm sure you could think of a few other uses for her the rest of the year too. ;)

And if anyone wonders, this is a semla:

I like the bunny picture it gives a good representation of the innocense of my soul... noone ever belives it though :D

hmm well soon the snow is gone weee :) I missed all fastlagsbullar and I feel so sad :( but I got so much lovely palinka hehe though one baronwer tried to give us a special price of 10 € for one shot of palinka when we were partying in budapest... we just said no for some reason :)

how is the rest of you doing?

missy_me oh I know what you are talking about... when I was at a green construction course in greenoble, france the fanciest they showed us that was considered supermodern was to have twoglazed windows and some isolation in the walls... and the people from rest of europe wondered why they had that much isolation...

Winter in Denmark sounds really awful to me, snow or no snow. I've never been there in winter, so I might be wrong, but I imagine it being tons of wind and rain. In any case, everyone should have someone to keep them warm during long and cold winter nights.
It all depends on the weather if Denmark is awful or not in the wintertime. I honestly don't mind the snow that much, as long as I don't have to drive to far in a snowstorm.

Both of the following pics are taken from my condo on the 5th floor (which is 4th floor in Denmark) and there's a big difference in how appealing it looks, and it's mostly because of the sun shining in the second pic

As for the dish drying cupboard, I've never seen those myself, but I do have a fold out thingy that I use when I wash my diskes, and I leave most things to dry in it, except glasses and utensils.

I also have to agree with you on the bread missy_me, that's something we masters in Scandinavia. In my travels I haven't really come across anything as good I must say

yes i enjoyed it very much :)

mmm must visit my parents more often my mother just made me two fastlagsbullar :)
