Which, while understandable (I did speak from a position of ignorance), would never be taken back or apologized for, and the negative opinions formed of me would remain incontrovertible to them, even after showing contrition, which is why I didn't bother.

The part bots aren't programmed to do is the part where they reply to all the push-back, saying "what do you mean?" and actually addressing specific content in the criticism.

That's part of what is making this feel to me like a person and not a bot. The other part is the really odd bait. Offering to graphic-novelize someone's smut story is a very odd thing to design an automated scam around.

That's why I don't think it seems automated. It seems like a person playing dumb in order to keep the attention alive.
