Hi,

Does anyone know how to save the audio stories on the site to a local hdd? I've got realplayer and it plays fine but I can't get it to save. I've got a program that lets me get only 30 seconds of media at time.

right click and "save target as"? Haveent tried it, but that works on most links on the net.

i've tried this... it only saves the link, not the file.

i haven't really tried very hard to do this but i don't think it's possible. could it be the webmaster/site-owners don't want the files downloaded? i could understand if they wouldn't.

I recently expounded on this in another thread...however, since it seems to have disappeared, I'll (briefly) repeat myself here.

EJFan is right...a simple right-click-save-as won't work. The links on the audio pages link to RAM files, not the actual audio.

Here's the deal: an RAM file is NOT a media file in its own right. It's really just a *link* to a file stored elsewhere.

When you click on the links on the audio page, your RealMedia player loads up the RAM file. That file then tells your player the location of the REAL file for your player to load and play.

What's the point of all this, you ask? Simple...it's a anti-leech screen. By only giving the location of the media file indirectly through an RAM file (which can only be read by a RealMedia player), casual 'Net users are prevented from seeing the actual location of the files they're being linked to. This effectively stops anyone from saving the files to their harddrive, or linking to them directly from some other site...you can't download what you can't find.

Saving the RAM files to your harddrive does no good. Opening them from there is exactly the same as opening them from the Literotica site...you still have to stream the actual media from its hidden online source.

Now, having said that...I will say, just for the record, that I know of a way to locate and download the actual media files instead of the RAM files.

HOWEVER...since I'm not sure if Literotica would *approve* of this practice, I will NOT reveal any information regarding how to do this. If the Lit people read this and say that it's *okay*, then maybe...but otherwise, I'm not doing anything that might make them mad.

Sorry.
