Mr Keen and I are doing it up big sty-lee. Please feel free to help yourself to some OJ and coffee. Mr Keen will be happy to fix you up with a Bloody Mary or mimosa (that's a Buck's fizz for me brit mates) if you're needing a little hair-of-the-dog.

There are croissants and pain au chocolat on the table along with a fresh organic fruit salad. Dig in.

I'm off to start making the omelettes. Your choices for fillings are:
bacon
cheddar
emmenthal
broccoli
spinach
tomato
red pepper

So place your order, get a drink and go relax on the big comfy sofa. No fighting over the magazine section of the paper, please.

MMmmmm. All but the bacon please!

Can I bring coffee? Mine is exceptionally good this morning.
What else can I bring? Bagels?

Mmmmmm, breakfast!

*refills coffee and nestles in the biggest most comfy chair in the house*

Good Morning! :)

Iced tea, perchance??

Must.....have.....caffeine....not...in...coffee....

thanks....:)

<zombies, tea in hand, to take a seat on the floor and continue waking up>

Morning, Jim!

Any good plans for the day? Well, it doesn't have to be good I guess. I have to clean the house that I've neglected all week. Not good but still a plan. :)

Morning, beautiful. Nice to wake up to such a sight. :)

No, I"m at work and will be most of the day. I'm still not entirely awake, which isn't all that unusual.

Did I mention I hate mornings? With a vengeance? Sleep 'til noon, I say! :)

Good Morning, Miss Peachy!:)

I must say, I think even Martha would be impressed, if not down right jealous, over this little spread!:D

Umm...what is emmenthal?

A mimosa would be lovely, thanks....I offer a baked french toast soaked overnight in orange peel, cinnamon and brandy to your table. Enjoy!:)

Can someone please explain why we feel soooo tired when we HAVE to get up but when we could sleep the day away we are up at the crack of dawn, wide eyed and bushy tailed?

I was up at 6am this morning. I hate that damn internal alarm clock!

Well, estevie, that's because God has a very strange sense of humor. :)

I have exactly that same <yawn> problem....

Emmenthal is like Swiss cheese, with smaller holes, Ms Intrigued.

And, even though I have already eaten, your French toast (or as they call it here, eggy bread) has my tummy going 'gimme gimme gimme!'

Its saturday, estevie. Give in to your inner sloth.

BTW JMJ you will be pleased to know our soundtrack for this morning/afternoon's grazing extravaganza will be entirely from my extensive Blue Note recordings collection.

You have exquisite taste, Ms. Keen. I'm most definitely impressed!

And just so you know, in person, I'm not nearly this intelligible this early in my day. Most of my pre-10 AM conversations are a complicated series of grunts, clicks, and whistles. ;)

Just a cup of tea, and a chewy bagel for me, I don't get into big breakfasts. We all could read the NewYork Times and talk about world events, or even get into some sort of etheral discussion about life. Sounds like a perfect Saturday to me.

Wow....just what I need to go with my steamer....a veggie omelet and some fruit salad....oh, yeah....one of those mimosa's is just too tempting....too bad I'm on call.:)

Funny, Mr Keen and I were just saying over our omelettes that although we really do love many things about living in London, we really, really miss lazy Sunday mornings sitting out on our stoop with bagels and the New York Times, chatting with our neighbors as they pass by.

Bastard! I'm tired of his lame attempts at humor.

Este, I would like to sit on your lap.

Why? Did you want to squish me? Better get me before I eat or I'll spew like a 16yo at his first kegger.

Well, then. You and Mr Keen will be able to communicate clearly indeed.

Didn't you know that every man can communicate on this level? It's out default.

Thanks, I am now educated!:)

I'm rather feeling like actually making this French Toast, and this recipe is a good one because it makes a really thick custard that resembles bread pudding. It is TOO good.;)

I don't know whats gotten into me, it must be this beautiful Autumn weather, but I am in a mood to bake. I have a bunch of apples, a pie pumpkin and bananas at just the right stage of ripeness to make banana bread, so I will be making pies and bread today.
I might even make those wonderfully tender, airy Southern Biscuits.:)

Enjoy your day!:rose:
