The San Jose proposal has not been passed, or even researched. They have no idea what their existing state and city gun laws are, or what coverage exists today in most homeowners and renters insurance companies. Nor are they aware that this was proposed in NY and several other places. Once they did the hard work of googling gun liability insurance, they figured out how dumb this idea is.

Police, Fire and EMS services all respond to traffic accidents and incidents which all vehicles on the road must carry liability insurance for, yet the cities and towns of this great nation do not go after insurance companies for services rendered. Its an obligation of society to pay for an imperfect world.

If they did, no one could ever afford insurance!

I do not have insurance on any of my houses because I do not need too. There is no law saying I must, because I own all my homes outright with no mortgages.

Yet, I pay an INCREDIBLE amount in property taxes every year.

If one of my places catches fire, then the police, fire and EMS services still show up because its a service the towns and states where I have these homes, provides for me, the American Taxpayer

I still have a right to own a home without insurance though!
