I don’t know how into kink you are, but If you’re heading to SF you should check out the Wicked Grounds Kink Cafe. It’s a very casual place to hang out where they offer a full schedule of kink related events. It can be a place to meet like minded people.

You could probably find out about the local bathhouse scene there form people who are into it.

You might want to check out their calendar to see what’s going on while you’re there.
