Samhain's Blessing

Hornus/Lirar looked at Una and grinned. "Why I am the enemy, beloved. If you family knew, they would be livid, and in truth that is part of the appeal."

His hand caressed Una's chin and stroked her cheek gently, "A small part, but a part nonetheless."

He looked around the area they were sitting in and then down toward the city below. "As you may imagine, I dabble in illusionary magic, this restaurant is mine."

He was right. A good part of their attraction was situational. It scared her despite the fact he said it was only part of it. What kind of man was he really?

"You have quite a gift. My gifts lay within object enchantment and manipulation. If not for my family, I would probably like to have a shop selling such goods."

The meal was more than adequate, but still she was nervous enough to be mostly silent. Una knew not whether the tension between them was imagined. It was as if a thousand thoughts bounded within her head and could not even begin to put them together. What she did instead was place a hand over his own, rattling slightly. All this trouble and she couldn't think.

There was never a prettier sight as she entered the gala on that crisp, cool night. Her chaperone kept a watchful eye over the beauty in silver colored attire. The area was crowded and overcome with those dancing and chatting. It was easy to get lost, but this man had the eyes of a hawk. Not a spec of dust went unoticed and she was beginning to wonder how they'd ever escape his sight. Lorgha was still missing thus far. Sometimes in a room so crowded, one could still feel alone.

He smiled as Una placed her hand over his, her nervous tension obvious in her slight tremor. He glanced at her, whispering, "Time is our ally, beloved. Your family ail find nothing but that which we wish them to. My family shall not seek me out.
"

"Truth be told, I do not like this body as much as my own."
