North Ronaldsay Sheep are the only sheep that eat seaweed. They prefer it to grass.

They have their own fan club: Here

The AH hasn't had a sheepish thread for a few weeks.

What is your favourite sheep breed? Would you adopt a sheep? Would you keep sheep to save mowing the grass?

If not? Why not?

Baa!

I worry about you.

Why? You have a sheepish slogan under your name. ;)

At least I haven't mentioned garderobes yet. Oops! I just did.

did i ever tell you about isabelle, my pet sheep when i was ten years old? i fed her with a bottle as her mother didn't have enough milk for all three lambs she had.

Morano's - the Australians are breeding them in pastel shades, soft pinks, blues and greens. I want a flock on my lawn.

Also - Chafana is just about the best mutton dish there is. You can't get mutton any more, I could grow my own.

My lawn consists of some green-ish fluff in the shower drain. If a sheep wants it, I won't protest.

I'd forgotten.

I put it there weeks ago. I was wondering when you would notice.

I hate sheep.

the way they smell.

the way they sound.

the way they look.

the taste.. gah!

I am allergic to wool.

I would gladly push a flock of the wolly little buggers off a cliff into the sea, where they can eat seaweed until they explode and pollute the ocean, and make more food for the sharks.

Now there's an animal I can admire.

I would only consider adopting a black sheep. I understand you always get three bags of wool from a black sheep.

Sheep are cute and tasty... like rabbits. There should be more of them, and lest ugly beasts who only talk about sheep.... :p :D

Og's AV is going to get you for this!

the shark?

I lived in Turkey for three years and had enough mutton to last me three lifetimes. Ugh!

I don't get the impression that sheep are very good pets. I guess they are not so smart. And they do kinda smell. However, they seem very useful. They are covered with useful fuzz, composed of useful meat, and you can make feta cheese with their byproducts. And yeah, they do trim the grass.

Hmm, It would be nice to have one in case of an apocalypse, but in the meantime, I think I'll just borrow my friend's angora goat.

I would be willing to keep a sheep or two to avoid mowing the lawn but there are some problems. :D Cleaning up after them would probably be more work than mowing, and they would smell bad. It would probably be illegal to keep them in the city also. Another advantage, though, might be an improvement in my sex life. :nana:

Read Murakaml's - 'A Wild Sheep Chase', it will give you a whole new perspective on our relationship with sheep. The Sheep Man really would not like some of the disparaging comments posted here :D

Ours is right now, and I'd be happy for a goat or sheep so I wouldn't have to mow it.

In a couple of weeks it'd be more suitable for a duck.

They are adorably soft and cuddly. And my feet would be a lot colder at the moment without them!

As for roast lamb and mint sauce.....*drool, drool, drool*. My favourite Sunday lunch.

Dolphins allegedly evolved from sheep-like creatures. Maybe North Ronaldsay sheep are getting ready for rising sea levels...

The Great Og asks and I answer:

What is your favourite sheep breed?
RF: I'm non-discriminatory

Would you adopt a sheep?
RF: No. IMHO, it'd be a form of cultural genocide.

Would you keep sheep to save mowing the grass?
RF: Did that once. Never more.

If not? Why not?
RF: The neighbor's German Shepard got loose and killed them.

Lol :D

I agree. They'll just follow you around like sheep, and lose their proud agnine heritage altogether

Damn straight, Doc. You know the damage is irreversable when they start taking over your TV to watch sheep shearing contests.
