I don't have any live experience with one of these, but from what I've read you start soft and end soft. And really I've heard more cases of it being to large and slipping off rather than it not coming off. And I'm pretty sure you don't need lube... of couse I don't have the parts for this, so I'm sure shankie will correct me where need be.

There are several designs - a few that involve the balls and several that do not - not knowing the design, (of the gates - I can guess the design of your equipment) it is difficult to advise how to put it on. I can say that if you are faced with how to get your balls through a small ring slip one through first then the second one - they can go through amazingly small openings one you get the trick.

if that last and largest ring is big enough to put your ball through I suggest, while flaccid, you pull your balls through then work your cock through that same ring then thread you cock into the rest of them

Having a lot of experience with CBT toys, I can tell you from experience that the Gates of Hell are lots more fun to see on a shelf at a toy store than to play with.

You have to put them on flaccid, just like most metal cock rings. The rings on the penis, being metal are cold and might be a disincentive to an erection, but in the right state of mind you can get hard.
