Rules Of The Living (Closed)

Rick turned, eyes on the ground as if to dull any sting from his words. "Eden. Normally I'd agree with you, but we don't know why these men are where. Frankly I don't care as it's none of our business. Now, I'm sure you can take care of yourself but Beth is 17 years old. Carl's 13. Maggie? Carol? Lori? Can you take a chance in trusting these men? Are you willing to take that kind of chance."

Daryl nodded, "If this was a couple of people walking up and asking for help, maybe. Maybe." he repeated, "But they don't lock up people for lying to their spouse."

T-Dog touched Eden's shoulder, implying he supported her. "We can't be animals. Why don't we give them one of the cars, some supplies and just send them on their way."

Oscar, the big black inmate, nodded, "Yeah, just give us some supplies and we'll be on our way."

Rick shook his head, "No. And risk you coming back here?"

Axle, the skinny one, held up his hands higher. "Hey man. If we wanted to do you harm we would have back Tomas when he tried to take you out. Don't that alone mean you can trust us? At least enough to leave you in peace?"

Rick sighed and looked to Eden, "What do you think? If it was you having to be responsible for all these people and risking all their safety. What would you do?"

Daryl didn't even look at Rick, eyes never leaving his targets, "That's not fair Rick."

"Now, I'm just asking for her opinion Daryl. I'm not putting this on her. I just need an outsider's opinion."

Eden looked at Rick and then at Daryl, she felt a hand on her shoulder and looked at the man. Really looking at him, she did not know what to do any more. She closed her eyes as a tear fell down her cheek. No one knew Eden's story she slowly opened up her eyes and took something out of her pocket. Looked like a very high tech recorder, she rewound the tape. And sighed a little bit "Daryl life isn't fare" She said sadly she had lost everything.

She looked around her seeing Lori and Carol, she handed Lori the things she had asked for to make her letters. But this had to end, and looked at Rick "This has to end with us, the day of my graduation is when this shit happened. I got a car for my graduation after the ceremony I was going to Daryl. I looked at him and his brother as the brothers I always wanted. Meryl could be a dick but he was family to me, I was to tell him my mother was pregnant again. But it was not to be, my graduation was a blood bath. "

Slowly opening up her eyes she looked at everyone "My parents and I got separated and I did what my father taught me, I have war in my blood has been that way since my father taught me to use a gun. I was five years old by the time I became good enough to go hunting. It was shortly there I met Daryl and his brother, they taught me to hunt quietly to be the hunter to be the predator but when does that all stop for us?

The skills they both taught me saved my life, but you have to remember that there are so few of us. I was in a group the leader of that group was on his way out of Atlanta to come here because he killed a state senator for having sex with his wife, but did I condemn him? No I looked beyond his race I looked beyond his crimes. He had a small girl with him she was eight years old. She survived on her own a week stuck in her tree house her babysitter dead.

In the lung run he was bitten, but we did not fear him we helped him. He had the girl kill him so he would not become one of the dead. She found her parents but they to ended up like the others outside. I split from the group once the last two members were more then enough, we lost many good men. We were raided and his son had been bitten, in the end his wife killed herself and I took the gun pointed at the eight year old boy and I pulled the trigger.

The more we kill the more it makes me wonder if we should just die ourselves, blood is on our hands none of us are innocent any more. But its those we lost that makes us go, ghosts of the past who tell us what is right and what is wrong. I know who you lost Rick a little girl named Sophia a child that you and Daryl tried to save. And Carol a wounded mother who wants to feel love again. Who had an abusive husband who was killed.

I learn to listen I hear the screams of the lost on the wind, I can read people the way no other can. It is so easy to kill, but its not so easy to look at convects and give them a chance. I know I have no family I am a lost cause perhaps, but I had to move for the man I loved I had to stay alive for Daryl. And now you ask me what the prisoners fate should be? Give them the chance they deserve, think outside being a sheriff Rick think like a human being. And learn the hard way"

She pushed play the on the recorder that she had, it was a strong beat and it was actually the last song she ever wrote. And she actually had been able to finish the song because of what they had all been through. The guitar could be heard as she began to sing to the group, but as she sang the first verse she looked at Carol singing to her. Showing the woman she understood her feelings about losing her daughter in this.

Another head hangs lowly,
Child is slowly taken.
And the violence caused such silence,
Who are we mistaken?

But then she pushed on and looked at Carl, and touched his cheek but not in a way that would pose her as a threat. She slowly looked up at Rick wondering when this madness would end. But as she sang the next verse she made Rick know that this wasn't her family that she understood that she really had no reason or right to be head butting him here. But she made sure he realized that there was more then just crimes.

But you see, it's not me, it's not my family.
In your head, in your head they are fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are crying...

And finally she looked at the man who had touched her shoulder, and looked at the others that were in the room. She was rather not happy about any of this, but she had a voice and it would be heard. Right now everything was shit that much she knew all to well. But she would do what was right, life was not simple any more that much she knew. Sighing silently as she turned around slowly looking at everyone, feeling the sadness drown her.

In your head, in your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie,
Hey, hey, hey. What's in your head,
In your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, dou, dou, dou, dou, dou...

But she stopped turning and looked at Lori dead in the eyes and pointed at her looking at Rick as she kept going on. Showing that it was not just him his choices hurt, but those around him. Things just had to stop because she did not know how much more of this she could take. But Lori was a mother and even pregnant, right now everything was turning upside down. And she knew that better then most people in the prison.

Another mother's breakin',
Heart is taking over.
When the violence causes silence,
We must be mistaken.

Closing her eyes as everything spun out of control for her, and right now all she wanted was to be seen not as a girl but a woman. But stopped thinking about Hershel and had met him once before things got really bad. His son had just been killed but his wife and friends still alive. Her stormy eyes looked up as she looked at everyone and almost collapsed onto her knees, she knew the only way to really reach anyone was by doing this, though the time may not have been good.

It's the same old theme since nineteen-sixteen.
In your head, in your head they're still fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are dying...

In your head, in your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie,
Hey, hey, hey. What's in your head,
In your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, oh, oh,
Oh, oh, oh, oh, hey, oh, ya, ya-a...

Everything grew silent as she silently sighed a little and slowly stood up. Looking at Rick and placed her hand on his shoulder. "I bet my life on there's people are becoming monsters and can you honestly say you are no better then those locked up? No one is innocent crimes no longer matter Rick, right and wrong is out the window. But survival is everything, I believe that this man believes here. And that is good enough, because of what I have seen"

She looked at T-Dog and saw something in his eyes it was sincerity something she had not seen much of. Looking back at Rick she silently sighed, placing her hand around a necklace that was given to her by Daryl. "They deserve a chance Rick, because I know many people get the death penalty that are honestly innocent. Though I think if we gave them supplies I honestly do not think they would survive long on there own. We need to stick together now more then anything"

Slowly looking up at everyone, she got a chill up her spine as everything seemed so perfect and safe. Slowly taking her gun from her hip and checking the to make sure it was loaded. "I am sorry you lost people, I am so sorry. I sense the pain and torment you are in, every day I look at this gun. Take out all my bullets except one, I spin the chamber and pull the trigger to my head. And every day I still breath air, the hardest thing in this world is to live in it.

You have lost good people, people that deserve to be breathing. But we have to live on for the future, every day a brother or sister die. Every day a mother or father are forced to see what the ugly truth is. To stare into the eyes of the one you love, to be forced to free them from there torment. You have lost friends, ones who stood beside you in bad times. Children every day die, what is happening out there all t his death. I think is natures way of getting rid of Humanity.

For most of us are ignorant, selfish and monstrous. Killers starting at a very young age, natural selection. When we die....we become them. You think you can hide behind these walls. To protect us from the walking dead. Don't you get it? We are the walking dead. We just haven't caught up to the fate millions of people have fallen to. But we live on hoping to learn from our mistakes, learn from yours sheriff for this blood shed must stop stating with us"

Everyone listened to Eden, and when she was done no one even knew what to say. it was Daryl, of all people, who spoke first. In a way that only Daryl could manage what he said was both profound and to the point.

"Hell, Rick. Aint one of us in this place who aint done something we weren't proud of. Eden's got a point. Sooner or later we're going to be no better than the people we're afraid of."

Rick took a long breath and looked back at the two men, "And what if we're wrong."

Daryl, bow still rock steady and trained on the shorter white guy, said, "Well? We still gotta clear the yard. Burn the bodies there 'fore we can start planting. I saw we make'em earn their keep."

Oscar nodded, "Yeah. Let us earn our keep. I'm cool with that."

Rick looked from Eden to T-Dog, then finally to Axle. "How about it? You ready to get your hands dirty?"

Axle shrugged, "Do a gotta choice."

Rick nodded once, "Weeks worth of food and a one way ticket out the front gate."

Axle nodded back, "Weeks worth of food's only good if you're alive to eat it."

Rick sighed, "I need a 'yes' or 'no' from you?" clearly getting frustrated with the way Axle avoided answering questions directly. As if the reinforce the point, Daryl leaned forward to shorten the distance between Axle and the point of his arrow.

Axle raised his hands again, "Sorry! I'm in. Sorry."

Rick nodded, "Okay." To the group he explained, "I need Daryl and Glen to help me. We'll take these two out and start clearing the yard." He gestured to T-Dog and Eden, "You two stay here should anything happen." His eyes darted to Hershel who still hadn't woken up. To his son he got down low, "Carl. You're still on keys. You know what to do, right?" It almost seemed wrong to have to put this much responsibility on him at this age.

Daryl gestured with this bow to the two men, "Back away. Back up." They complied before Carl, with his keys, approached to unlock the door. Daryl cast a pained look back to Eden with a nod, "We'll finish our talk tonight. Okay?"

Eden had made a damn good point with what she was trying to say, she placed her hands on her hips and was glad that Rick seemed to agree for now. And right now she heard what he said, not really liking what was going on. She knew she would stay with T-Dog but didn't know exactly what to do. But hearing what Rick said with his kid she looked down for a moment, something did not feel right in this she had a feeling like something was gnawing at her. And thinking about few other things.

"Rick we will keep those here safe, I promise no zombie is going to eat your son or your wife." She walked over to her stuff and grabbed a sword and took it out of its sheath and began to twirl it in her arms. Much like a ninja could, but it showed the grace that she carried. And that she knew what she was doing. Eden was a black belt at many different Japanese and Chinese styles, and knew the language very well. Her father always thought it wise to know such things, he was a strange man.

Smiling a little bit as she cracked her neck and heard what Daryl said and knew it was time "I have a bad feeling about this Daryl" She took out something long it was an arrow case and she took one out showing him. "Take these I made them, but make sure not to poke yourself. It has acid in it. You don't have to worry about hitting them in the head any more, it will eat the body up" She put the arrows in his case and looked at him. "I believe in you Daryl, come back to me" She said softly.

In that moment she actually felt lost, she walked straight but seeing a photo on the ground, she knelt down picking it up. Running her fingers over the picture, she could feel Carols pain through the photo and put the picture down. Eden was not religious in any way, so what she was about to do know was actually do something she had never done before. She looked up at T-Dog and closed her eyes thinking about the child.

Thinking of the lords prayer and she spoke it loud in clear, but she said it in Latin a language she learned from her grandmother before she died. Slowly opening up her eyes finishing in English. "May you watch over your mother Carol and everyone here, for we will all meet up one day, be safe....Sophia." For the first time in many tears a tear fell from her cheek. Walking over to Hershel she checked him and knelt down, looking at him as she spoke to the sleeping Hershel.

"I am so sorry you lost so much, you were my father figure when I needed you. A hand to guide me, we lost so much and deep down I think I am dying. I have no purpose but to survive until I finally drop, I am sorry I could not save your son. I am not letting you die not without a fight, so fight for me and for those you love. To much death is lingering in the air. I can not stand to watch another friend die, because there isn't much left of me to die." Another tear fell down onto his bare hand as she silently cried.

Slowly looking up at T-Dog and then Carl, deep down she felt like no one was left. That she was all alone, sighing sadly as she buried her face in her hands. "Will this ever stop? so much death in such a small time, I am afraid that in due time there will be no one here. We will all be walkers, though I pray for the sake of the children it doesn't happen. I have seen enough death and I wish we all could be taken back from all this.

I was glad I could talk Rick down and hopefully let those men stay. There has been enough pain, we don't need to add to it." She sighed a little bit so unsure about anything. And right now she just did not care. So much has been taken from them in such a small time. Looking down at Hershel and took his hand in her own, she silently prayed over him begging for him to be okay. Because she did not know if she could pull the trigger if it was someone she cared for.

Eden felt a hand squeeze back for a moment. Then Hershel moaned a eerie heart stopping sound that had been heard by so many. As his eye started to open, Maggie was first on the scene. She held a gun in her shaking hand and looked to Eden for confirmation.

"M... Maggie?" Hershel whispered. "When did... guests, arrive?" He forced a small smile as his daughters rushed in to hug their father. Another affirming squeeze and Hershel finally let go to hug his daughters.

T-Dog hung his arm on the door of the cell, "Old man's a fighter." He was grinning from ear to ear. With a nudge he focused on Eden. "Maybe your'e just what we all needed?"

Eden slowly backed away so Maggie could hug him and felt the nudge, slowly standing up and looked at him. "There has been enough death I just want it to stop, so I will do what I can. I just hope Hershel continues to pull through, if one more person dies in this group. I don't think it will be good, if I had known this was going to happen I would have stayed on his farm. I never had a chance to meet Maggie so no surprise she doesn't know me. But my focus was on Daryl and those around him.

I just get a very bad feeling something is going to happen, something bad. So we need to keep close eye on everyone. I will do my best, not to sure what a nineteen year old can do but I guess we will see. The meds I have should be enough to help Hershel if he can continue to keep going. But he has a reason to keep going and its his family. I am just sorry I had not been here sooner I could have stopped some of this" She sighed and leaned her back against the wall closing her eyes wanting to cry.

It was Carl who spoke, shaking his head. "We can't blame ourselves for what we didn't do. We just make the best with right now." He nodded as if agreeing with himself. His voice was confident, and his words too wise for the child they came from.

Hershel started to sit up and looked at his leg, pausing as the memories sank in. He almost laughed, then turned his attention to Eden. "You'll have to excuse my daughters, ma'am. They forget their manners."

Beth caught on quickly, "I'm sorry... Eden, this is my father Hershel Green. Daddy? This is a friend of Daryl's. She has some medicines that will help you."

Rubbing at his knee, but avoiding where his leg ended, Hershel nodded, "If you've got anything strong than aspirin, I'd be much obliged."

Eden smiled hearing what he said and took something 'I have something better" She offered him a very strong narcotic pain reliever and smiled a bit. "We actually met but with everything that has happened its easy for forget." She walked into the light and smiled at him, placing her hands on her hips. "I did not stay long perhaps a week, I felt to be a burden which was why I left. Your daughter wasn't there yet she wasn't at the farm. You saved my life over a year ago Hershel so I am returning the favor"

She said softly "I can go into more detail later, since its not important. I am sorry you have lost people, sometimes life is unfair we all have suffered lose and I do have some medical training so I will be keeping my eye on you. Hopefully the leg was removed in time, the man I was with that controlled the group he got bit and cut his arm off but he stilled turned. But I am sure you have time on your side, since his arm had been removed several hours when he got bit." Looking down a bit she sighed. "Let's just pray for some peace"

Hershel nodded at the mention of a prayer and bowed his head to gather this daughter's hand. Maggie was between her father and Beth, who reached out to take Eden's hand. T-Dog hung back with Lori and Carol, out of reach, but both lowed their heads in silence. Carl had decided it was better to just keep his distance than pray to no one who was listening.

"Lord," Hershel said, "I know these are times of testing. And I know you still watch out for us. Eden is clearly a gift to us, as I'm sure we are to her. Thank you for her strength and we pray for strength we can return."

Almost everyone nodded and 'Amen'. Lori was the first to suggest it, "Someone should tell Rick that Hershel's okay." She knew that Rick was counting on Hershel to do her c-section and now that looked like Hershel would be there to save her and the baby.

Hershel nodded, "I agree. Someone should tell him. But, if I could have the honor - just to see the look on his face." The old man smiled. Though I could use a couple of strong ladies to help me. Carol? Eden? Would you do the honors?"

She bowed her head she was never one for prayer but anything could help, it was nice and saying Amen she noticed the boy and then she heard what Hershel said and she nodded. Standing up she headed for the door but stopped, looking back at Carl and smiled a little at him. He reminded her so much of the little eight year old she knew. And looked at everyone, thinking about anything and everything. Everything was just so damn hard lately, sighing a little she was thinking of something deep to say.

"Carl there is a god, I never use to believe that there was one. I use to think everything we are taught was crap. But I have seen so many things that show that there is someone up there looking down on us, it is not gods job to live our lives. He has given us life, forgiven us for what we had done and what we may end up doing. Hershel is part of that miracle, he is a hell of a fighter but its god who is helping as well. Don't lose faith in everything, you have parents that love you.

I did end up finding my parents, when I went to them it was already to late. I had to put a bullet into my parents heads, but I never gave up. There were so many times I wanted to die, how many times I tried to do it. But that to I was meant to be hear, I am sorry for Sophia and by the looks of it Dale and Sophia. One day I will have to explain some things to everyone, since no one but Daryl knows me. I am a stranger in everyone's eyes, but I thank you for accepting me. Don't lose hope Carl" Giving Carol a pistol with a silencer and headed out.

Carl just glared at Eden with the eyes of an angry child. He wasn't mad at her, but had nowhere else to direct his feelings. "Sophia died and she was just dead. She was one of those things. She didn't-"

"Carl?" Hershel broke in by calling out his name, "You think you can find me a cane or a crutch to use?"

She heard what Hershel said and smiled "Go into my bags you will find what Hershel needs, I brought my fathers cane and a pair of crutches that I found in an old hospital" She sighed silently. She could feel the emotions coming from Carl. "Sophia dying was no ones fault, what your father killed was not Sophia any more it was the virus that took over." She left with Carol and felt something she motioned for her to stop. It was to quite, checking her gun she cracked her neck. "No one else is going to die..."

Opening up her eyes she could smell the dead and motioned with her head to follow. But quickly she saw Rick and Daryl but her eyes went wide. Two walkers behind the guys, she grabbed her knife from her boot and at the same time she pulled the trigger to kill the walker behind Rick the dagger she threw went into the walkers head behind Daryl. Her heart was beating hard and looking around, closing her eyes as she could "See" around them. She was more of a hunter any more.

One who knew what she was doing. "We came out here to tell you Hershel has woken up and will be up and moving quickly. I don't know how the shock did not kill him, but a fathers love is stronger then anything. Rick when you have a second I need to talk to you, can be later its not important" She smiled looking up at Daryl.

While Rick, Daryl, Glen and the prisoners had been working it was Eden's attacks that brought up their attention. Looking back to her Daryl pointed behind Eden. "The gate!"

T-Dog, who was steps behind Eden was the first to see it. "The gate's open!" He shouted, seeing that there were now dozens of them in the area. They were moving towards Eden and T-Dog. Across from where Even was standing was another open gate with several walks coming out of it as if they were already inside the prison.

Eden smiled at the men but then hearing what was going on, she turned and her eyes showed fear. "Shit!" She refused to let someone else die and took a machete that she brought with her in case she ran out of ammo. She growled a little and charged the walkers, removing all of the walkers head. Twirling the sharp weapon she kept hacking at it, once they were taken care of. She dashed right into the prison and grabbing her gun she killed the last two walkers with the help of the others of course.

As Eden turned into a storm of death Walkers seemed to come form everywhere. Someone was clearly letting them in and the group needed to split up and isolate the causes. Daryl and Eden had to take down a hall killing Walkers until the reached a door the could close. With Eden's help, Daryl hooked a pair of handcuffs through a frame while Eden killed what she could.

With some breathing room, Daryl finally fell back against a wall ignoring the walkers that were still trying to reach trough the now locked doors. He sighed and continued to get his breath, "...we had this whole place locked down..." he explained both frustrated and out of breath.

She did everything in her power to help and it was a big help, she could tell that no one had ever met a young woman like Eden. Though she was not cocky or anything, she heard him panting and smiled a little bit at him. "Well it's better here then the last place I stayed, last place one of our own got a arrow in the shoulder. At first I thought it may have been you, but thought that for a second. Since you are always sure what you hit are dead. Any way, they took Mark in and we ended up finding his legs had been removed.

These people were using humans for meat it was just disgusting, they are dead now but I dunno. People are turning into monsters themselves, but I am just glad I managed to find you. I started to track you, the way you and your brought taught me" She knelt down in front of him looking into his eyes. I am sorry I could not get to you sooner, if I had things may have been different." She sighed a little bit, she just wanted to hug him but didn't know how he would exactly take to that.

Daryl shook his head as he got to his feet. "It's probably best you didn't. I mean, so much was happening then I don't think I would have cared about it as much." He let his eyes look down her body and back up, "I mean, if I'd have to look at you every day, I wouldn't give shit about all this other stuff."

He paused either debating what more he should say or waiting for something else to happen. It was always hard to tell with a guy who played all his cards close to the vest.

She stood up and listened to what he said and smiled. "Daryl not many people understood you, you have always been special to me. I watched you and you never treated me with any kind of disrespect, sure you had your one nighters and your girlfriends. But I don't think any woman has ever really understood you. But it appears these people see you for the person you are inside, so I am glad you care. These people in your group need someone to believe in, I know a few look up to you and Rick."

She said softly and walked towards the door and stopped "People will see that your not just some redneck, you have a brain and frankly the girls you would sleep with thought you were stupid, but even I knew you weren't. Let's just hope that everything can become stable, though with zombies I doubt its going to stop. Our species may honestly end up dying out, but I am worried about Carl. I may know about medical shit but, Lori has a 90 percent chance of dying because of this pregnancy of hers"

As if the mention of the others brought Daryl back to the moment he sighed, "Shit. We gotta go back. At least clear what we can and figure out who let these walkers in here." He paused, just long enough to look Even over again. There was now a warmth and longing to that look. He half smiled, "Hell, this isn't how I imagined us meeting up again." He paused as if he were going to expand on that and then turned to head to the yard again.

Eden smiled at Daryl and chuckled "Knowing you, you probably thought I was dead. Course I can't tell you how many times I wanted to die, but I kept thinking about you. And I made a promise that if something bad happened I would find you, and here I have kept my word for you" She said softly enjoying the way he looked at her. And walked beside him sighing a little "Lori made me promise to save her babies life even if it meant sacrificing Lori. What I don't understand is why would anyone listen? I was surprised Rick listened"

It had only been a day since the chaos.

Rick, Daryl and Glen had figured out where the security break came from while T-Dog, Carol and Lori were now gone the two criminals had proven themselves trust worthy enough. It seemed Eden was right to give them a chance. Now, Rick's baby was here but she didn't have a name and Rick was gone to find a way to cope with his dead wife.

Supplies were going to be needed if this baby was going to survive. What formula they had was meant to supplement Lori's feeds, but now it was their only life line for the child. A decision would have to be made as to where to go and what to get soon. It was a decision that no one was ready to make just yet.

Daryl was headed to one of the pickets and stopped to check on Eden. "I'm going up to keep watch. You wanna come? Be a chance to talk without all these people tryin' to join the conversation." He looked around with a sneer but Eden knew when he was kidding.

Eden had felt useless she wanted to save the babies life but the life of Lori as well, she tried so hard but it just turned to shit. And Carl forced to shoot his mother in the head, Eden had not talked to anyone since she had to cut open Lori to get the baby. She felt like she killed an innocent woman and hated herself. Though she did not let people know that she felt like a monster, she talked to no one and found it hard to look at Rick and Carl. She had given Rick and Carl the letters that she wrote and sighed.

Eden seemed to be on edge though she did not know what was going to happen, she heard something and looked up seeing Daryl. She smiled a little hearing what he said and nodded, grabbing her gun she put it in the holster on her hip and walked with him. Thinking of different things lately. Sighing sadly as everything just seemed to stop around her, she walked with him and did not say anything. She was worried about Carl and now with a new baby she did not know what they would do.

Once they got to the spot Daryl would keep watch she sighed sadly, sitting down and thinking about everything and she silently began to cry only way to see she was crying as her back and shoulders were shaking.

Darly looked around, frustrated because he knew he was supposed to do something right now. Normal guys had words and women always had some speech that cheered up anyone crying. Daryl just wasn't wired like that. Still it hurt him to see her crying, and hurt more that he couldn't figure out what to do next. Sitting with her Daryl took one of her hands and gripped it to let her know he was there.

"Damn, I suck at this." He finally said, if just to break the silence.

Eden did not realize where he was and then she felt his hand on her and she slowly looked at him and heard what he said, she placed her hand on top of his and squeezed it. She just wrapped her arms around his neck and just hugged him. This was more then enough, to be held by him to enjoy the feel of his warmth. She smiled weakly but enjoyed there bodies touching, she had loved him for so long. She pulled away a little and stroked his cheek, smiling a little bit as she looked into his eyes lovingly.

"Your here that is what matters Daryl."

Daryl wrapped his arms around her, both to hold her and to keep her safe. He's failed at so many thing, and lost so much. He lost Merle, he lost Sophia, he'd lost Andrea... day after day was just pain. Nothing changed, and nothing every seemed to let up.

"Don't you fuckin' leave me. Okay?" He words were angry, but his tone was desperate. He couldn't loose Eden. Especially not her.
