What is your most romantic gesture? or what is the most romantic thing that has happened to you.

I'll go first....

I was working in the marketing department of small Theatre (theater for our American cousins) and decided to propose to my girlfriend.

I had tickets for a riverboat shuffle (boat-trip and party on the river) so we got all dolled up and drove to the event. The Theatre was only 5 minutes walk from the river, so I told her that we would park at the theatre and walk down. When we got there I mentioned that I had to drop some keys off.

Walking towards the main entrance, she saw the huge billboard that I had organised with:

She said yes and started crying. We didn't go on the boat trip - I had also booked a table at the best restaurant in town and a hotel room.

A braii under african skies

In 1996 on a visit to my brother's in Johannesburg I borrowed his car and took my wife for a surprise drive........to a rondavel in the Kruger National Park and cooked an amazing barbecued meal under a typical african sky. The sounds of africa all around us and the primitive nature of the location made it a night to remember.
