"Well you know, if its a good beat, you just cant help it." Her stomach growled a bit more than she wanted it to. Looking down at her waist, she absent mindedly adjust her top, lifting it up so that her chest wasnt so exposed. "So are you living on your own then? Seeing as you mentioned something about parents not caring or something."

He watched her adjust her top as she asked about where he lived. "Ah, yeah, I have a little apartment." He hadn't really thought too much about her body until that moment. He averted his eyes quickly so he wouldn't embarrass her. "My folks weren't exactly to PTA types. I've been on my own since I was about, well I've been out of the house since I was 15." The waitress brought their food. He was happy to dig into the plate of pancakes, smothering them in butter and a little syrup. He took a bite and closed his eyes. "That's so good." He sighed.

"I'm envious. My parents were the opposite. Always committed to everything that ever had to do with me. I was sheltered and watched over. Spoiled even, although I never asked for anything. Its rough being the only child with over protective people. Luckily for them, I didn't turn out as insane as they thought I would. And unfortunately for me, I'm sane." The temperature in the diner was a bit cooler than that of the bar, so she let go of her hair, letting it fall past her shoulders. the blond strands looking almost white. "So, I'll stay here and keep talking with you till you decide I'm out of my mind. Hopefully I get to finish my sandwich before then."

He snickered at her last remark as she took a bite from her sandwich. "Insane? I doubt it." He noticed a couple of things that led him to believe she was getting cold. The diner air was turned to frigid. "Need my jacket?" He pulled it off and handed it over, revealing a body hugging t-shirt. A G-clef tattoo on the inside of his wrist peeked out from under the long sleeves.

Her face got flushed. Reaching over, she took his jacket. Wrapping it around her shoulders, she noticed how much smaller she looked inside of it than he did. "Fits like a glove huh?" she chuckled. "So how many girl drummers have you met on your wacky misadventures?" She took a bite of her sandwich, trying to not get crumbs to fall down her shirt.

He laughed as she pulled it over her shoulders. It looked good on her. He poured a little more syrup into the plate and swabbed his ham through it. Looking at the plate he said, "You're the first actually. Most of the girls I meet are definitely not drummers. They're usually singers or maybe they can beat a tambourine." He shifted around a little and pulled his sticks from his hip pocket. They were poking his ribs. He laid them on the table beside his plate and ate a few more bites.

"Sounds boring and stereotyipical. When I had shown up to the audition for the original Chaotic Frenzy band, Allie had known me from high school. She, of course, knew nothing about me, so she thought I had gotten lost or something when I got there. But I could play, and they needed a drummer, so I guess I lucked out. It sure is better only being able to bang on my drums when no ones home. Upsets the folks you know" She reached over and grabbed his drum sticks, twirling them in her fingers. "Its fun though, letting it all out, making loud noises." She finally realized she had been babbling. "So enough of my loony talk."

He chewed as she talked. It was comforting to hear her soft ramblings. When she took his drumsticks it was as if she had suddenly become intimate with him. He watched her fingers expertly twirl the sticks as was habit with so many of their kind. He washed down his mouthful of food with the coffee and leaned back as the waitress refilled the cup. The slight buzz from the Jack and Coke was gone and he felt a little more in control now. Sometimes when he got in the mood and buzzed he could be quite annoying, not to mention raunchy. This girl wasn't ready to meet that particular Benji. He had to agree with her that it was the most fun to let it all out and make loud noises. "I like your talk. It makes me feel pretty good." He winked at her.

"I should tell you, I dont handle compliments well. So right now I'm fighting the urge to hide under this table." She smiled then looked away. She didnt know why she was always so insecure. "I probably just didnt get hugged enough when I was growing up, or some crap. But seriously, stop stuffing your mouth and say something before I flake out and go escape through the bathroom window."

He wiggled the fork and swallowed what was in his mouth. "I will tell you this, don't hide under the table cause I know it isn't safe under there." He shifted his weight a little. "I think all you have to say about compliments is thanks and I can't really believe there isn't someone wanting to hug you a lot." He pointed the fork at her to emphasize his point. "I, myself, was lucky to get noticed around my place." He thought about it a minute. She wanted to know so he decided to let her hear it. "My dad was a drummer in a jazz group and he was really good. I guess he met my mom somewhere and got her knocked up. I'm pretty sure she wasn't exactly pleased, but here I am. My old man liked to teach me to annoy her by playing drums. She was gone a lot, doing whatever. He couldn't hold a job and drank himself stupid most of the time. I started running the streets and playing in bands when I was about 12. Some older guys took me in and taught me what I needed to know. I started getting paid for drumming when I was 13." He took a breath and a sip of coffee. "So, now you know. And before you ask, I have no idea where either of them are anymore."

"I guess I'll work on adding the phrase 'thanks' into my vocabulary, since thats you're solution to it. Any way," she said, placing her arms on the table and slightly leaning forward. "Whats so bad about hiding under a table? Isnt that where kids were taught to hide in case of nuclear warfare? I think its a legitimate place to go when you want to let someone or something not find you." She took a final gulp of her milk, wiping away the the excess from the sides of her lips. She had already decided she liked talking to him, which was always a good thing when wanting to carry a conversation with someone.

Max placed his left hand to his forehead, and wiped at the sweat, brought his hand down over his face, and shook his head. He moved over to Alex who was playing out smoke on the water.

Thinking about what Alex had said earlier about keeping to the setlist, he was right we knew what we needed to do, so why was it so difficult, why was this different to any other show. Max had taken heckling before and bounced right back, he shook it off, and moved over to Alex.

Max placed his hand on Alex's shoulder and tapped it.

"what you said before man, stick to the setlist, thats what we gotta do. We cant let anything from out there screw up what we got going man, we are this band man, the band dies so do our chances, then we gotta go back to the real world, and I aint goin back. So lets do this!! we'll start from 4 We need something heavy, angry and fast."

Max went over to tell Leon, as Alex told Adrian.

"sorry for that little unplanned interval, but even the best fuck up a little"

Turning back to the band

"ok guys, lets show them why we were christened Chaotic Frenzy!"

Nadia thought it to be best to not get back into the conversation of Benji's parents. She wanted to keep the conversation light and rather cheerful. I dont need more depressed talk, she thought to herself. She could hear some cheering from the bar, even though it was down the street, it carried over faintly. She wondered if Max finally decided to get over himself and play some real music. Nadia missed playing as a full band, and if Benji took the drummer spot, it would mean she would be left out if they did get back together.

Allie rolled her eyes at Max's comment and waited for them to play another song. She would've continued talking to Ben but decided against it since Nadia seemed to be enjoying his company. She watched as they exited the bar.

After a few moments, Allie stood back up on the table and whispered, "Okay after their set list, we go back on stage got it?" She handed Nailz her song and the notes that went along with it.

Greg Heimdall was finally back in town. He'd been gone a long time, and had missed Emily the whole period. Last he'd heard, she had just left a band. He went to a bar out of boredom, having heard that two bands were slated to perform there.

When he got there, the first sight to greet his eyes was Emily standing atop a table and heckling the band on stage. He grinned at that. She hadn't changed at all. He walked slowly over, then cleared his throat, before shouting out. "ISN'T THERE SOME SORT OF PENALTY FOR HECKLING THE HECKLERS?"

Benji looked at her when she asked about what was under the table. He felt a little flinch between his legs. The thought of a girl being anywhere near between his legs was almost more than he could take . "Lets just put it this way, if you go under that table you can expect some company." He laid his hand o her forearm and stroked it just a little. The diner door opened and he heard the band had cranked back up. "Well, sounds like they might have decided to play for a change." He told her. Her face was soft and he liked the way she looked when she finally relaxed.

It took her a minute, but she finally understood what he meant by company. Blushing, she couldnt believe she was that naive. Goosebumps formed on her arm as his hand gently grazed her skin. "Think we should head back. You probably want to see what you're getting yourself into." She honestly didnt want to go back there at all. She was running out of things to say and knew that she didnt want to bore him.

He didn't answer for a minute as he considered the possibility of getting her to go back to his place instead of the dark club, then he shook it off. "Okay, maybe I should." He knew he should give the band a listen if they were playing some more. He rubbed her arm again before moving to take the tickets for the food. "I got this." He said as he slid out of the booth. He put out his hand to help her as she got up. At the register he paid them out and they stepped out into the night once again. She walked next to him, his jacket around her shoulders. She looked downright cute. "Sounds like they are wailing now." He said for lack of anything better to say. Just before they opened the door to the club he stopped her. "Thanks for the visit." He squeezed her hand and they stepped back inside.

Just as they had reentered the bar, she took his jacket off and handed it to him. "Thanks to you too, dont want to end up keeping it." Her vision accustomed itself to the darker lighting of the club and Nadia made her way back to the bar. Standing there, were Allie and Nailz, papers in hand, looking intently at the stage. Jesus Christ, she thought, Of course I come back to watch them make fools of themselves. Standing close to Nailz was some guy she had never seen before. Oddly enough she thought to herself it looked like someone Nailz might have dated, with the way he stood there, yelling some randomness to no apparent person. When she looked over, Benji had found a stool where he could watch the band. She didnt want to just go over there and sit down next to him, that might be a bit too friendly. Finding a small love seat in the back of the bar, she popped down on it, legs crossed and closed her eyes. Maybe if she didnt actually see anything disastrous happening, it wasnt going on.

"Nadia, there you are!" Allie said hopping off the table. "Here ya go! We're gonna perform after Chaotic dumbasses." She could see the worried look on Nadia's face. "Don't worry, Nadia..I talked to the manager and he said that since we performed so awesomely, he'll let us play at least one song!" Allie still held the sheet music out for Nadia.

Benji took his jacket and found his way to a barstool. Nadia rejoined her friends at the bar. He watched her for a minute, thinking of the possibilities. 'Stop it Benj, concentrate." He stared back to the guys onstage, listening. They were tight, even without a drum. Alex nailed the timing perfectly. Evidently he had been without a drummer long enough he was compensating for it. Having a drummer should take the pressure off him so he could actually play that bass. Benji reached for the sticks in his pocket. They weren't there. Glancing around he found Nadia on a little couch. He went to her and took a seat. "Did you bring my sticks?" He asked. Smiling she handed them over. Already she was a step ahead of him. He gave her his best smile as he took them and began pounding out the beat of the current song against his thigh. He was engrossed soon and closed his eyes a little, feeling the music.

She wasnt going to be able to fight it, she knew it. Grabbing the sheet music out of Allies hands, she gave it a look and then headed outside again to go grab her drum kit out of the back of her dad's SUV. She had propped the back door of the club open with a crate that was left outside. As she unloaded her snares and symbols Nadia saw Alexander playing on stage. He always looked really good with a bass. Benji came around and had offered to help her get the rest of the stuff from the trunk. God I look so odd lugging these drums around. Once all of the stuff was backstage, she headed around, back to the other girls. "So why exactly are we doing this?" Nadia had a look of defeat on her face. Anything to make the night end, she just wanted to go home and sleep.

It might have taken a while, but they were finally getting back to their songs. Mike got what he wanted, a heavier song, much heavier. As Adrian opened the song, Alexander followed quickly and even Leon joined in. Now all they needed was a drummer. Alex really missed that extra ompf to their sound. But still, it sounded good enough.

He thought it was largely due to Nadia getting back to the bar (even if Benji tagged along), trying to impress her with his skills. He played with a little extra showmanship, his fingers flying over the frets and strings. Alex fell in tune with his bass, loving every second of how they performed. He just got in the zone, the pieces of the puzzle falling together, save for the corner that the drummer should have filled, but still. When Max started with the vocals, Alex just knew. They were Chaotic Frenzy, the best in town.

"Simple, Max always thinks he can have the last word ...or in this case, tune. Not on my clock! If he thinks he can just start ridiculing our band just because we aren't their members anymore, he's got another thing coming!" Allie said crossing her arms, once again refusing to look at the lead singer of Chaotic Frenzy. She had other motives as well, but kept telling herself this was to make the band look good, not to impress him or anything..never that.

Allie came over and handed Nadia some sheet music and told her they were going to play one more song. She jumped and ran to the door where she began lugging in her trap set again. Benji tried not to watch, but when he heard something drop and the bar help looking down at it he could take no more. He went over and helped her get it into the club anyway. She would need a hand setting up quickly too so he waited. "I'll help you set up." He told her. He squatted at the wall and waited. Allie was in some sort of excitement and he wondered what was up.
