From here:
One of America's musical icons, Grammy-Award winner Patti Page, has died at a nursing home in Encinitas according to her personal manager. In her seven-decade recording career, Page sold more than 100 million records making her one of the most successful female recording artists.

Page performed all over the world and was often asked to sing her biggest-selling record, "The Tennessee Waltz" which she recorded in 1951. Others know her as the voice behind the recording "(How Much Is That) Doggie In The Window."
100 million records. A beautiful note on which to end a life's song. :rose:

I remember hearing her sing the Tennessee Waltz on the radio when I was a cub. RIP Patti.

I have 'Allegheny Moon' and 'Old Cape Cod' in my collection of 50's 60's music. I once lived on Cape Cod and 'Old Cape Cod' stirs up memories. :rose:

You guys make me feel young. My mother knew the words to all of Patti Page's songs.

My mother had a bunch of her records. RIP, Patti. :rose:

Someone used to play me her songs. The two of them are forever entwined in my mind. I'll waltz tonight in my dreams.

I recall hearing her songs on the radio when I was a teenager.
Whilst I cannot say that I really enjoyed the songs (I was at a funny age, I guess), I gotta admit, she sure knew more about singing than most of the current crop of idiots.

She was my first crush. I was all of 7 or 8 in 1950/51 when I first saw her on a neighbor's TV. She was a goddess.

[At least until 1955/56 and rock and roll and puberty changed things for me. I eventually expanded my musical tastes to include pop standards, jazz, etc., and renewed that 1950s crush on Patty Page.]

Patty Page was a great singer and great lady. I will miss her.
