From here:
Jonathan Winters, who earned laughs playing everyone from an alien baby to a crotchety grandma, and who inspired numerous comedians in the field of improvisational comedy, has died of natural causes at age 87.

Of all the comedians of that generation, he was my favorite. No doubt he had angels rolling on the clouds, pounding their fists, within minutes of arriving. Such a funny man.

JW was the most talented comedian until Robin Williams came along, and Robin called him the Guru.
RIP.

RIP.

I ain't surprised.
He was one of the few American comics to be seen in the UK as being really funny.
And he could do the straight bits, too

very funny

And he seemed like such a down-to-earth genuinely decent guy. So many comedians today are famous/infamous for their sheer level of misery. Winters just loved his life.

He will surely be missed.

Indeed. The man mixed slapstick with sophisticated humor. He was a true Vaudevillian, if only in spirit.

One of my all time favorite movie scene was in It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World when Phil Silvers and accomplice enrage Jonathan Winters in the garage. I still cry from laughing so hard.

An incredibly gifted man who made the best use of his talent and enjoyed life.

Rest in Peace and thank you for all the laughing tears.

I love that movie...so many brilliant comedians in one film. Also, Spencer Tracy was terrific in it too.

Here's a link to the scene from It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World:

He was a talent

I've enjoyed his work for years.
He lived to a good age. :rose:
