Not just Snowman from Smokey and the Bandit, Jerry Reed was a world class guitarist. Jaw-dropping good.

A great loss, he did a really good show when he toured, back in the day. :rose:
Another member of the great band in heaven. :rose:

Adios Jerry. You were one hell of an entertainer. :D

You for sure ain't in that place where "When You're Hot, You're Hot".

A great Musican, one of the all time best. He will be missed.:rose:

I'm pretty young but even I'm saddened at the death of Jerry Reed. I don't know him directly and I've never seen live footage of him.

Several cartoon stations would play old episodes of "The New Scooby-Doo Movies" and Jerry Reed starred in one episode, in which he sang 'Pretty Mary Sunlight' throughout it. I fell in love with it and him, just from watching that single episode. I still can't get that song out of my head even though so many years have passed.

RIP, Jerry.

Damn.

My mind keeps recalling the scene from Smokey and the Bandit where he's trying to get that damned mopey-lookin' dog outa the dam and back into the truck :D

A silly good times movie from my teen years.

Crap, all the good ones are leaving us.

Distinctive and original guitar style. First measure in, before the first vocal, you knew who it was.

Thanks Jerry.

He was one of my favorites. And I might be young but I have the movies on my favorites shelf. I'll have to find some of his music.

:rose:

As far as movies go, I loved his character in Gator. A great dark comic undertone to his villain.

I met him when I was a kid and he was very cool to me and my cousins. He brought us on his bus and hung out with us and played his guitar for us. Gave us a bunch of Jerry Reed stickers and shirts, etc. This was right after Smokey and The Bandit came out. My mom and dad took us to this huge country concert in Indianapolis and he was there. He impressed the hell out of a bunch of kids. I didn't even play guitar yet, but I realized he was extremely good.
