Jane Goodall understood the critical difference between environmentalism and ecology.

The former is anthropocentric, because it revolves around human animals. The latter puts human animals in their appropriate place within a web of life.

There are thousands of outstanding conservation biologists and ecologists who are not TV stars.

The problem is that way too many humans are living in a human-created virtual world and are almost completely divorced from the natural world, much to the detriment of most species, including humans.
