As I sit here and ponder a title for this piece, I know in my heart that all across America, true Patriots are considering how and when they must bring about a revolt.

“…That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. To those of you who claim not to understand the Far Right in America, may I suggest a survey of pre and Revolutionary History of just how America came into being and why.

"Give me Liberty or give me Death!" is certainly beyond the comprehension of most; yet there it is and it remains a part of American Colonial History.

The excerpt from the Declaration of Independence above, includes the caveat that people will suffer oppression and repression for just so long before they find they must act to defend their own individual freedom.

It is time to recognize and acknowledge that 2010 America is undergoing a descent into absolute Despotism, and a course towards abolishment must be taken.

The US Civil War set brother against brother and family against family and almost tore an entire Nation apart. One cannot imagine a more divisive conflict yet that is precisely what is brewing across this great land.

The achievement of human individual freedom, codified by the Constitution of the United States, was the result of hundreds of years of a slow casting off of Kings and Gods, Rulers and Dictators and was a high point in human civilization.

To regain that pinnacle of human individual freedom will take no less an effort than that required to achieve it.

For the nonce, Americans' will choose ballots over bullets...as will be amply displayed in the next elections. If Congress continues to ride roughshod over the will of the people no matter which party is in power, then measures will need to be taken...said measures could take many forms...not all of them violent.

Senators and Congressmen need to be reminded periodically that they are servants of the people...not the other way around. ;)

A goodly number, one in four, if memory serves, of the 13 Colonies, remained Loyalists to the King and returned to England. Many more, mostly French, went north into Canada, and a full half refused to take sides in the Revolutionary War.

Uprisings do occur, as do full blown Revolutions, many with far less 'cause' than true Americans are faced with today.

The first time I read the words of the original patriots, I thrilled to their courage and veracity and willingness to risk everything, yes everything, home and family for that abstract ideal of individual freedom.

I am convinced that spirit still exists in America and the question is not 'if', but when it will emerge.

There were arguments aplenty in opposition to those who advocated separation between the King and the Colonies, I expect no less this time around.

Would you like to define "true Americans" for us Ami? I'm just curious as to how you tell the difference between a "true American" and an ordinary American. Would the "true Americans" be the ones from whom we stole this country? If so, your take on the situation sounds about right.

However, if "true Americans" refers to the working class, I would think the revolution you're expecting would be against the multinational corporations that ship jobs overseas and close down factories all over this once-great country. Or perhaps it will be against the corporatists in government that sell legislation to the highest bidder without regard for the citizens they're supposed to be representing. Or perhaps, once the green curtain is lifted and the Wizard is revealed, it will just be against rich people in general, and conservative elites in particular, since they're the ones running our country into the ground, and laughing all the way to the bank.

Yes, there may be several revolutions erupting all at the same time, but instead of using your guns in acts of aggression, you're going to be firing over your shoulder as you run for the hills.

Ami, the founding fathers wrote with purpose and conviction that an aristocracy was burden that free men need not accept. The colonials were not all "Flaming Patriots", you've read history. Scoundrels and opportunists, like Benedict Arnold and Aaron Burr, or sainted like Washington and Jefferson, they covered all the span of human motivations.

Yet the very things you advocate advances the interests of the "New Aristocracy," Corporate Moguls, at the expense of the people. Don't you see that Boehnr and Steele and Rush and all the Foxiness is to advance the "New Aristocrats", no sadly you don't.

Did you ever pick up Eric Fromm? Remember I suggested you read "The True Believer." It is a little dated, because he speaks a pre-WWII vocabulary. I'm sure you would be able to read his meaning.
He speaks from the heart about the human condition, he is not a liberal by any means but he speaks the truth about his subject. His writing is somber, thoughtful and no bullshit.

If only for the writing, J. William Fulbright's, "The Arrogance of Power," reads as if he had written it in 2003, instead of 1966. I found the "history repeating" aspect powerfully when I read it again in 2005. Again he was a man who knew how to write and was a man of substance and refinement.

Where have our lettered Congressmen gone. Fulbright, I miss deeply.

The forces of propaganda have been marshaling since the concept was invented and refined during WWI. You know that the '50 and "60's were the age of advertising. If you worked radio you probably "Blew enough Smoke" on the air.

Now look at Glenn Beck, I really hate to but, he is a "True Believer", I'm just not sure of what. He is too nauseating to watch, so all I see is the clips I can't avoid. As we know from O'Reilly, Glen is "Everyman, a Joe Sixpack."

So I give him the same attention as I'd give Joe, or any other asshole who had never actually read anything more complicated that a script and the comics.

Read Fulbright, if only for the authorial aspects. Look at his analysis as it applied then and now. Obama is falling into the same pattern.

I did pause over the term, 'true Americans', but I surely was not referring to the Native American contingent who still want a nomadic life.

I would refer you to a series of books by...damn...Toffler's? That explained why Industrial and Manufacturing societies evolve into service economies. No one shipped jobs overseas...high priced Union Labor destroyed Detroit and hurried the transition.

Government and Corporate America have always had a particular relationship, aka 'The Military/Industrial Complex', written about during the Eisenhower years and thereafter.

Government has no skills save taxation, government must purchase the services of business and industry even to feed themselves in the White House and all that they accomplish is through the barrel of a gun, the use of force, through taxation, to fund their coffers.

Your class warfare Marxian rhetoric of the poor versus the rich is so out of date I wonder anyone with even a small education even reads about.

I have no idea how the new revolution will progress. I would guess it might be through citizen refusal to pay taxes and obey oppressive laws. The aggression will come from government but will be met with resistance.

I can only think you write in jest when you refer to Corporate Moguls. Giant firms, like those in the Energy Industry, have simply left America and gone to countries with less restrictions and lower taxes.

I was discussing Eric Fromm while you were still in shortpants and Fullbright received much coverage; nice that you have discovered both at this late date.

I was a talk show host in two major market areas for twenty years, I competed with the best and am fully aware of the modern conterparts on both radio and television and they each and all serve a purpose in their own way.

There is not a single Congressman in either the House or the Senate that I admire and respect and very few in either Party that speak with knowledge and clarity and could be considered, 'Statesmen', the best of our minds will not stoop to public service.

It is amusing and anomalous to me that the two best spokespersons for human freedom are women, Coulter and Bachman, and while I doubt their philosophical underpinings, their political statements reflect genuine values reflecting that basic American spirit that most are clueless about.

Have you ever considered that at the very least %50 of US citizens want this government and are happy with this administration? Have you considered that your side is not the only side with guns? Have you considered that just because *we* want peace and will not start violence, we will defend? Have you considered that we just might kick your ass instead of you kicking ours? Have you considered that we consider ourselves patriots too and that we will fight those who try to overthrow our Country? Have you considered that it will not be just picking peas off in a pod, that we will take the fight to you just as hard if not harder if you start with the violent shit?

I failed to make the point that the "Words of the Founders" on the practicalities of making a free people remain free, governing themselves as befits a free person, the checks and balances of the Constitution, were to counter act the very forces that enslaves men, an "Upper Class", be it by birth, wealth or social position.

Their thoughts on the adherence to the law, for better or worse, is still the bed rock of their many positions. Bad laws can be changed, but ignoring them, as we have been doing, for special classes leads to the end of the Republic.

This is not to say that the "Special Classes" are my enemies, but that they feel that I am, so I must be?

You spout such bullshit when calling for enforcement of the law, good, bad or crazy is what you should be calling for if you are a patriot and not a puppet of the priveliged.

It is the city bred left wing progressives who have lost contact with nature and values and visit city parks and zoo's to acquaint themselves with their roots.

Those who will begin this revolution will simply turn your lights off and wait for the chaos to subside before herding you into the pens you belong in.

In my view of the coming upheaval, you will be transported to barren land, given material to build a shelter and seeds to start a garden and pretty much left to weed yourselves out.

Those that survive may be fit to join the human race again...but that is pure speculation, I think you would just give up and die.

Studying Monarchies, being a dime a dozen, is an easy path to the privilieged class, or special class you refer to; there are none such in America.

Studying National Socialists or Communists, and pick any venue you wish, is a study in human depravity.

Individual human freedom, a free market, a Republic, a Nation of Laws wherein all men are equal before the law, is a very new experiment in human cohabitation.

I think it did well in its early days, bringing a backwoods nation into world prominence through the free enterprise system and a respect for human individual rights and liberties.

But the parasites and the poor are always with us and no system of cooperation can long last when assaulted by the entrenched intellectuals who gain tenure and sinecure within academe, wherein lies the rub.

As the 'Church' never had any real power in America, the intellectuals bailed out of religion and infested the Universities where they could have a full rice bowl and spout off to their content.

Most American wealth was earned by self made men, except the Kennedy's of course. Wealth earned by producing goods and services the public was eager to purchase.

Now innovation is controlled by government, the EPA and the FDA, et cetera, and true genius has been stifled or corrupted in order to please the regulators in power.

All we ask is that you leave us alone and get the hell out of the way.
