I'm watching it on Comedy Central right now.

Am I a jerk for really liking this movie? It makes me smile and laugh and want to put on black framed glasses and get the hot fraternity babes.

You're a dork for watching a movie on Comedy Central. As for the content of said movie, no there is nothing innately wrong with liking it. :)

I hate that they edit movies on TV - however being in a hotel right now its the most interesting thing I found. Having seen the movie when it first came out it was fun to see it again and it reminded me how much I liked it.

Ooops - my mistake. It was on AMC not Comedy Central. I didn't realize that Revenge of the Nerds had become an American Movie Classic!!! I thought they only showed black and white movies on that station. Oh... and get this - coming up next is Hoosiers... I love that movie too!!!

They show Rocky Horror on AMC regularly now from what I hear. Now AMC that's a little better, and you won't have to deal with commercials every twenty seconds like on Comedy Central.

The worst is watching a Cheech and Chong movie on Comedy Central, where they basically edit out everything relating to drugs, which is kind of like editing out anything having to do with Jews in Schindler's List.

Good point. Could you imagine the South Park movie on Comedy Central (even though its their series)? It would pretty much consist of one word... "duuude"

Yaaay! Now I can get my regular dose of Frank N. Furter!!! :D :D I want Tim Curry's shoes!!!

And yah, I just got done watching Revenge Of The Nerds. I love that movie. I would go out with any one of those guys in less than a second. :)

Apparently the words America Movie Classics have no meaning anymore.

I'm ordering new glasses!

BTW - I've got Rocky Horror on DVD and its great. Not only is the sound quality wonderful but the extras are really cool, including a complete version of the movie filmed from the back of a theater in London so along with the movie you can see the audience response and the stage show!

AMC went balls up a few months ago. Now they edit shit and show commercials. Used to be very cool and now they suck balls left and right.

I think Ted Turner must've bought every B&W movie ever made and is saving them for TCM now.

You have a point. I remember when that station first started - about 15 years ago. I stayed up late many nights watching old black and white movies - some I hadn't seen in 30 years, some I've never seen. I was enrapt. However, I guess there are only so many of those movies and only so many times you can show them.

The editing part sucks, as do the commercials.

I've become somewhat of a movie snob since getting my large screen TV, DVD and surround sound. I don't even want to rent videos anymore, let alone watch movies on TV. Its all DVDs for me. But when travelling and in a hotel one entertains oneself as best one can.

And I still maintain that Revenge of the Nerds is a blast.

And Hoosiers is a GREAT movie.

I heard 80's tunes on an oldies station the other day.

*shudders*

That's a good point. I was listening to an oldies station the other day and noticed the same thing. The concept of what constitutes and "oldie" has changed. I like the music they were playing but considering I was playing in a New Wave band in the 80's I have a hard time accepting that music as "old." That would mean that I'm an oldie too...

I'm a 90's music child, myself. When I hear music from the 80's it reminds me of elementary school .. and naptime .. and magazine collage projects .. :)

I agree that AMC's taken a big dump. I miss seeing Greta or Joan Crawford everyday ..

I was a movie snob before I got the DVD, surround sound et al, lol. I'm SOOOO much worse now. We've got... ummm... christ, I dunno like 30 movie channels on the Digital Cable and I betcha there's been about a dozen times now when something's come on and my wife and I just look at each other and it's like "Oh yeh, that would be a great DVD!" and then it's off to Media Play.

This is why we don't have pay channels. If there's a movie worth watching we already have the DVD.

That and I don't want to become one of those people that watches carp on tv, even though they know it's crap, just because nothing else is on.

Oh shit there's a Real World marathon on! Laters.

Yes - I'm more of a movie snob than ever. Hell - I've got digital cable too but I still don't even want to watch the movies on that - I prefer the DVDs - again for the surround sound but also for the extras (most of th etime the extras are lame - but sometimes they are very good).
