Return of the Jedi is on

Hey, I'm just sayin.

You know what else about this one is crap? How at the end Yoda and Obi-wan and Annekin/Darth are all hanging out together dead and buddy-buddy like at the Ewokfest. Like "Oh terribly sorry about the whole galactic domination thing, and whacking you at the old Death Star there, old chum. Jolly good to see you again though, really, mate. And Master Yoda! Splendid job you've done with the boy. Frightfully sorry about that bit where I had to cut his arm off. You're looking well I dare say."
Yep, the ending sucked big time - pretty much your typical Hollywood/Disney type ending where everybody lives happily ever after. The would have done better to have Darth Vader be evil to the end, have Luke barely escape and the emperor survive - at least then someone could have carried Star Wars on for another half dozen episodes.

I can see it now; Star Wars XXII - the Emperor Strikes Back! http://www.theenclave.net/smilies/ups/unknown/lsvader.gif

No STG, Luke had to help Anakin redeem himself. He was the child of prophecy, the one to bring balance to the force, for all that it was his son that did it in the end.

Anakin overcame his petulance, his anger, and his impetuousness in that one act of self sacrifice, turning on the Emperor. He became the Jedi he should have been if he hadn't been so weak. It cost him his life, but that didn't disbar him from the ranks of Jedi past.

Of course, the portayal of that story . . . RotJ was the begining of the decline IMO.

Yeah, and Luke did that all in the space of a few short minutes. Very poorly written. And think of all the sequels they could have done rather than prequels! :D

Speaking of prequels, I have yet to see Attack of the Clones. I hear they have it in the IMAX theaters now (and DVD soon?). I wonder if there is an IMAC in Portland? Otherwise I would have to go by myself.

Size matters not - except at the IMAX! http://www.theenclave.net/smilies/otn/violent/lsabre.gif

Someone was asking about Mark Hamil (sp) and what he did after the star wars movies, well I know he did a few Video games one of which I think was called "wing commander", it was set in spacw (where else  ) and he was in the live action bit's tagged on at the beggining and end of the game.

Mark Hamill is definately not broke. Voice acting pays a shitload of money and he does a lot of it. If you watch any cartoon you've probably heard his voice. Carrie Fisher is successful too as a Hollywood producer, writer, and inside wheeler and dealer. Harrison's not the only one to do well after Star Wars. Hell, even Billy Dee has his Colt 45 endorsements (or does he?).

1. If you're the Emperor and can get any chick you want, any time would you really worry about superficialities like outward appearance.

2. Yoda and Obi-Wan forgave Anakin. Lighten up people.

STG - don't go to Imax. I went this weekend, and saw the original version at the regular theatre. They cut a lot from the Imax version, I kept gettng distracted by hair on the projection, and the screen was more like TV ratio. All in all, I was not impressed. If you can find a theatre that is showing it, go there, preferable digital.

I'll give that it was poorly written. But it wasn't a one scene redemption, it's a lifetime thing, which is why the prequels were important. They seem to have messed a few continuity issues with the prequils. But overall, it's filled in a lot of background and made the later movies easier to understand.

Woah back. Hate the character, not the actor. I think he did a good job, with what he was given. Anakin is a spoilt brat with delusions of grandure, impulsive and petulant. Not to mentioned his struggles are made worse by a dead mother and a coniving Palpatine.

Lucas can't direct, and messes with actors ability to bounce off their enviroment. Don't blame Christiansen for you hating Anakin.

You're right. I'll just focus all my hate on Lucas. In the meantime I'll wait for young Hayden to deliver a good performance in some other picture so as not to look like someone who jumps to conclusions.

They cut it? Yuck! Those bastards! Maybe I will just wait for the DVD and watch it on my parents projection TV instead.
