Ah yes, the isolationist viewpoint. How did that work for Murica in the 1930s?

I have no memory of the time when Republicans weren't automatically the MIC/war/aggressive-foreign-policy party. The recrudescence of isolationism on "the right" is a weird novelty.

I think most of the "fiscally responsible" Rapepublicans still want to conquer the world as Jesus and Ayn Rand commanded.

It's their bircher/glibertarian fellow travellers who are the isolationists.
