I don't consider your post as a rant....just a friendly reminder.
I agree with your thoughts wholeheartedly and try to show respect to everyone offline and online daily....something my dad instilled into my brain since I was a kid.

All true. Every word that both of you said. But we still have to try... I tend to just ignore those who don't show respect. No sense getting into a war of words. And I tend to gravitate toward the respectful, witty, charming types. I will always have time for a conversation with one of them...male or female...

TRUST, on the other hand.....is most certainly earned.

I suppose there are different levels of respect.
There's the respect that I have for those posters who I hold in high esteem.... And then there's the basic "do unto others as you'd have done to yourself" (or words to that effect).
I think a lot of the time, we forget there are people behind the Avs.
Real people, not just words on a screen.

Am I guilty of pissing people off unintentionally - usually in an attempt to be funny?
Absolutely. I put my foot in my mouth frequently, I'm only human. But I've never purposely posted something along the lines of some of the vitriol we see in this place.
