Found innocent. Not surprising in the Fascist State of Florida. I really don't know how any sane person could live there. Pathetic

Time for the Civil Cases to ruin the fucking piece of shit

Republican? How do you know? Even if true, is a police officers party affiliation a measure of performance?

unless we hear what the jury did, it's hard to make a sound judgement as much as most of us would like to on the face of things. Morally? I believe nothing should have held him back, but he was found not guilty on all counts by (?) all the jurors. Perhaps there is some compelling evidence we've not heard... Besides, being a criminal case, the prosecution has to prove 'beyond a reasonable doubt'; a civil case won't have that.

i feel for the parents, agreeing totally with the one who spoke about him 'getting his life back' when her own son can't.

^^^ Maybe it boiled down to the SRO job description
Then why was he found innocent of lying under oath? He was asked questions...he replied. Yet security film shows he lied. There is only one reason why he got off. It is Florida and it is impossible to find people with brains

I wasn’t aware of that. I didn’t follow the trial.

Seems like in Fla you walk if you’re “a good guy with a gun”

The outcome was foregone. If not at the trial level, then at the appellate level because the police have no/nada/zero obligation to come to anyone's direct aid.

Ever.

This is the law. And the DA either knew it and charged him anyway, or should have known it. The judge in the case should have dismissed the matter, with prejudice, but didn't. Oops.

I predict that he will get a nice quiet settlement from the State for malicious prosecution/abuse of process. Any media org out there who has been calling him a coward needs to be looking at their cash reserves too.

Then why hire them?

Cowards? Did you see how it was done in Nashville? Heros...within seconds of arrival they entered the building...sought out the gunman...and eliminated the threat. Still had a child, teacher and aide die...but it wasn't no Parkland. It wasn't no Texas fiasco. That's the difference between heros...and cowards

Bravery isn't required by the law. Nor is it required to be an investigator. Which is what the police are hired for.

No cop is hired to be a hero. That some are doesn't change the fact that LEGALLY their job is to act as a deterrent before someone lets that wild hair on their butt do the talking for them and/or do the cleaning up after all the dust settles. That's it.
