Replying to feedback

I'll admit it, I'm crap.

Are you as flakey as me, or do you make sure you always reply to feedback which isn't anonymous?

I try. I love getting it and it always means so much, then I get distracted by one thing or another and think to myself, I must do that later, then I don't go back to it.

Anyone willing to reply to my feedback for me? I have quite a backlog. :D

To all who have sent me feedback, especially those I haven't replied to yet, thank you. It really does mean a lot to me, I'm just crap.

Lou :rose:

I'm crap, too.

I'll be happy to reply to your feedback, Loulou, just as soon as I get around to replying to my own.....;)

I try to always say thanks, but I don't think I'm always that successful. What I've been making myself do is every time I see a new PC, or get a new email, I reply to it right then, instead of waiting. If I think, "oh, I'll do it this afternoon," then chances are I won't remember to do it.

but then, I may not get anywhere near the amount you do...

Bitch!

Just kidding, sweets. I'm often the same way and I really have no excuse. It's mostly procrastination and being easily distracted. Some of you who have received my replies to your feedback weeks later can attest to this.

I truly appreciate every comment, and even every read without a comment or vote. Thank you!!

Lou, you will never be crap to me...

But yes, I reply to all my feedback if they leave an address and also thank those that leave a PC, too.

So glad to hear I'm in such good company. :D

I've just been a very good girl and replied to some of them. :cathappy:

I just had an idea, granted it's not the most gratifying way to do it but it would certainly mean that everyone got an answer.

You could simply for say, two or three, template emails/replies.

One saying thanks, one saying when your next part should be out or whatever you feel might be appropriate.

You could start the reply either with just plain 'hi' or you could personalize it.

It's just a thought I had.

Course it will only really work if your replying via email.

Ah, yet more good company. :D

Yeah, I know, I tell myself to do that, too. I know if I replied to it immediately, it's done. The thing is, I do get quite a lot, but at least two thirds of it doesn't relate to any of my stories (they are much more personal in nature), and I have to sort the actual feedback on my stories from the other stuff. I quite enjoy getting all of it, but it's hard to know what to say in reply to some of it, so I end up saying nothing at all.

Also, I hate being repetative and try to say something of substance in reply, as opposed to just saying, "Thanks for reading the story and for taking time to send me feedback." But, I suppose that is much better than nothing.

Lou - must try harder. ;)

I really don't mean this to sound bad, at all, but wait until you have loads more submissions under your belt. ;) I used to be a good girl like you, honest I did. :cathappy:

I used to keep up with it sporadically, but I'll be honest... it's just too much work, esp. with the PC's. I love my readers and all the things they say. I'm just a horrible person. I need a personal assistant. If someone emails me directly I usually respond, but I've gotten more and more lazy about it. I suck.

(Psst, see what I said above. Her halo will slip, in time. :D)

yeah, no doubt. And I don't get loads and loads of feedback... I can't even plead being swamped. I'm just a lazy bastard.

Yeah, I kind of touched on that in something I said above, and it is a good suggestion.

It's just that I don't like the whole template thing that much. I'm sure I'd know if someone had used a bulk-standard reply to me.

Then again, as I also said above, it is better than nothing!

Thanks,

Lou :rose:

I haven't had a new story posted in two years, so I can't say feedback is a problem right now. But the last feedback I had, via e-mail, I did respond to. Most of my feedback was from people wanting the second installment to "A Warrior's Tale." Two years... Hope they weren't holding their breath.

Not proud of his publishing track record,

I really am not alone!

I feel so much better about myself now. :D
