My kid won't look like that. And I tell him all the time that the people he like (Good Charlotte is a good example) that they will regret all those holes in their faces one day. Hopefully it will all be over by the time he is 18. One can only hope right?

They are a band that the kids my sons age really like. They have piercings all over their face, different colored spiky hair, tattoos all over them....you know...a real good lookin bunch. ;) Do you ever hope fads will just stop before your kids get to the age of doing it?

so i guess you weren't talking about charlotte church?
fads come and go, and all of ours have experimented with piercings and tattoos, but in fairly mild ways. i think that sometimes parents being shocked by it makes it more enticing to them, so we've found it better to try to walk a path of moderation with them, than to try to stop them altogether. does that make any sense?

Yes it does, and I'm thanking the lord my son is 12 and too young for it all, and I know that all of that will probably be gone by the time he is old enough to do it, but who knows, the next fad may be worse. But for now, I have no worries. I also have step kids who have gone thru it so I know that they want a reaction, which they don't get, and when they don't get one, then they normally go on to something else. It's alwas going to be something though isn't it?
 
i don't regret my piercings, tho luckily i avoiding going over-the-top with it all. and luckily, i have plenty of time before my son or daughter get caught up in fads and such.
maybe i should just lock them up now?

LOL Darlin, no matter what, it is against the law to lock them up. LOL I've seen your pictures. I know you have piercings, but no, you haven't gone way out there. Do you think someday you will regret the piercings you have?

why would i?
i am not angling for a corporate job, none of the ones i have will make them big droopy holes, and when i am old iwill be more worried about getting to the bathroom in time than a few scars.
