but i tried to maintain my faith while restoring my own values after each failure. and in the end it was all worth it. we have such an easy perfect time with each other. it can happen. and it doesn't take compromising values. maybe compromising about where to put the furniture, or whose relatives to visit on the holidays. that's easy, but if you find yourself giving up on core values (and there's signs really early on if you're paying attention) then it's the wrong person, not a bad person, just the wrong one for you.
was that too long an answer?

Could it be that one reason so many Marriages fall apart, is because one or both members don't see it as a partnership, and don't get beyond the what can this person do for me? Instead of what can i do for them? or what can we do together?
Might it be that this society is so "self" oriented that maybe it discourages people from thinking of their lifemate as partner and compainion?
