It depends. For an Olympic event, yes, for pro sports, no.

Some of my friends go to basketball, football and hockey games now and then, but none holds a season ticket to anything.

Ever get stuck attending a baseball game? What a snooze. I happened to have a book on tape from the trip to the stadium. At least the afternoon wasn't an entire waste. Had good beer and hot dogs though.
