Seems to me to only stabilize one. If cliques exist, is it a way of being around people that think the same way?

I think there's a sense of security in being around people who believe what one believes. Whether that sense is false or not depends on perspective, I suppose. As I like to say, "'Common sense' means most of your friends agree with you." Anyway, I'll stop before this post becomes untenably long. Smart move, huh?
