It's been rejected as a failure in Greece, France and even northern Germany. Rejected by both history and by the voters.

Told ya. :D

Over the past two years, France and Germany have steered Europe through the debt crisis — though not always well — and declared an end to the flouting of deficit limits that led Europe into the debt crisis.

But the crackdown could not have come at a worse time — with the world economy slowing — and propelled Europe into a vicious austerity spiral.

Cutting spending — which meant laying off state employees and ending stimulus programs — further slowed European economies and produced less tax revenue, which meant more cuts were needed to meet deficit targets.

Now a backlash has begun and for many, Hollande is its leader.

HELL YEA!!! Let's all sit back and watch the EU spend it's way out of debt with imaginary money.....this should be interesting, popcorn LJ?

FDR's secretary of Treasury, Henry Morgenthau, who served from 1934 to 1945, wrote in 1939: "We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work. I want to see this country prosperous. I want to see people get a job. I want to see people get enough to eat. We have never made good on our promises. ... I say after eight years of this administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started ... and an enormous debt to boot!"

Not that I think the OP will ether read, understand or care about the truth.

O.K I lied about commenting.
