Relative breast sizes?

Hey, not sure if this question goes somewhere else, but I'm writing a story, and I'm trying to figure out what cup size a particular female character's breasts would be. Is there a website somewhere with visual representations of various cup sizes? My uhm... hands on experience, if you will, on the subject is relatively limited.

Every time I try to use google, I get websites about how to find plus-sizes bras. Interesting, granted, but not what I was looking for.

Any help is appreciated.

Awesome, if anyone else has sites that would help me, that'd be great.

Actually, it's been pointed out to me that breasts can look a good bit different when clothed and supported with a bra as opposed to when observed in their natural habitat, so to speak. So if anyone has links to websites showing what the different sizes look like while clothed (or if you have some pics of your own you would like to post ;) ) I'd appreciate it. :nana:

Consider this: if you, the author, need a website to visualize what a cup size would look like, why would you expect your readers to be able to visualize the breasts if you describe them by cup size?

On the question of clothed vs unclothed, there are literally thousands of devices and undergarments sold to make braests look bigger -- or occasionally smaller -- than their actual size.

If your hands-on experience is limited, do a little visual research with videos and picture galleries on the net and describe what you see instead of trying to assign a number to them.

PS: browse through the Author's Hangout and look for discussions on character descriptions -- you'll find that "reward poster" descriptions with bra sizes and lists of vitl statistics are generally discouraged and better, more effective methods of describing characters are given.

The best way to write is ussally always from experiance. So for you if you are limited then depending where you are you can go into your local victorias secret and start looking around. If one of the girls ask you a question you can even get them to help you. Situation you are shopping for your girlfrined and you want to suprise her. She will then ask you what size is she and you can take it from here. Your possiblities are limitless. You can say my girl on avarage is sort of like you, would this type fit you? What sort of outfits do you like. you guys will go back and forth and you will begin to see what the ladies wear underneath and how they are structured. Just about the only hard part in this whole thing is walking out of there with out anything purchased. So if you feel pressed buy some kinky panties and then save them for your future girlfriend.
Good luck on the story.

This is very vague, and I'm not sure how helpful it will be, but I think of cup sizes relative to how they fit in the average man's hand:
A- tiny, not much to hold
B- a fair amount less than a handful...maybe palm size
C- a pretty good fit
D- a good fit in larger hands to a little more than a handful
DD- really overflowing in the hands

Edit: This isn't meant to offend anyone, it's just how I think of them. Feel free to dispute and add your own descriptions. :)

Maybe I'm sized wrong or something but I'm a B cup and it's about a handful versus a palmful.

Like I said, it's a vague description. Maybe I should have said "hand size" instead of handful though. For the record, it's been quite awhile since I've seen B breasts in person, so my gauge of them may be inaccurate, and my hands are far smaller than the average man's. :)

Wish I could say the same about not seeing a B cup in awhile but unfortunetly I think my heredity has me stuck with them :D . I don't have a lot of experience on guaging breast size myself either, just mostly from discussing it with my friends and general comparison.

Nah, all breasts are perfect in their own way!

Texguy84, Weird Harold is right -- tell us how the character feels about those breasts, is he or she in awe, inspired, driven wild with desire, afraid? etc, etc. By all means describe them, are they pert, full, pretty? What about the skin, the pinkness, the paleness, the tan lines, the weight in his/her hands, the softness, the perkiness, the overflowing lush abundance, the roundness, the fragrance of the skin, the way they move, the way they are revealed -- see we haven't even touched on nipples yet and there's so much to say about a breast beyond the size. Not trying to can you -- just showing there is a lot that can be written about a breast -- or two! :) Good luck with the writing.

O_O

I think I'm gonna be busy for the next 3 or 4 minutes.

Oh, and while on the subject of breasts, is it true that women who work out their pecs tend to have firmer and/or perkier breasts?

Working the pectoral muscles builds/strengthens the pectoral muscles, which are under the breasts. I suppose that well-toned pecs could create that illusion, but I've lifted weights (fairly heavily/seriously at times) for the better part of the last 10 years and I've not noticed anything significant in that regard. But then, I'm 31 and I've nursed 4 babies, so unless I go the surgery route, my chance at perky boobage has been pretty much shot all to hell! :D

If you ever look at fitness or figure competitors (NOT the female bodybuilders) you'll notice that a lot, though not all, of them have implants. It's because their bodyfat levels are so low that they don't have boobs!

I wanted to respond to this thread earlier, but I couldn't quite remember where I read it...

But I finally stumbled across it... :D

From "GuyQ" by Joe Kita and the editors of "Men's Health" (page 135):

Difference.......Cup......Produce.............Produce
In Inches........Size.....Equivalent...........Weight

0...................AAA......peanut...............0 ounce

1/2................AA........kiwi....................3 ounces

1...................A..........navel orange.......7 ounces

2...................B..........mango................10 ounces

3...................C..........grapefruit............16 ounces

4...................D..........coconut..............25 ounces

5...................DD........cantaloupe..........36 ounces

Interesting trivia, but ultimately useless as descriptive comparisons.

A Kiwi may weight the same as an AA-cup breast, but the breast's density and shape are closer to a sunny-side-up fried egg than it is a Kiwi.

Even that isn't a good description for small breasts because breasts are as individually distinctive and varied as the women they're attached to. One woman might have breasts that are like fired eggs, and another with the same measurements have saggy little breasts like wet tea-bags.

The challenge for writers is to paint a picture of a specific pair of breasts that make the character unique instead of using a card-board cut-out labeled with a bra size.

I found this web site mentioned above to be quite informative. Men are visual and I do not mind admitting that I like it when a story mentions bra size.

My wife is a 38D, while her sister is a 34A, so nice to finally see how they would contrast topless. ;-)

I think most guys are ignorant on how women can vary among cup size. Shoot, look at the 36B, almost as big as the 34C.

Now, would be interesting for my wife if there was a web site like that showing guys from 4" to 12. My wife is always amazed at how much I change from soft to hard. Sadly, I am only 2 inches soft, but grow to a tad over 7" hard.

Fun thread, keep up the good work.

^^ 44DDD's.

Those sized boobies are generally too large for a slender woman... I'm tall and overweight, so they fit me rather well.
